After all was said and done, Claude started cracking some numbers and analyzing their options. Amberly was obviously in because they needed her to guide them to the House, and she was a spellcaster even if she admitted to not having much experience. Alain seemed more experienced than her and a second magic-wielder was unlikely to hurt. Someone skilled in skullduggery was a welcome addition just in case it was necessary (though they'd need to keep a close eye on him) and then they had the rider, whose horse would provide a good edge inland as long as they weren't inside a forest.

In the end, his conclusion was simple: hire them all. Their finances could take it, and more people meant going through obstacles faster. Hopefully all of the recruits would prove their worth.

[Caellath]

Claude carefully detached a page of his notebook then gave it to Ethan. It was full of numbers detailing expenses, with a "worth it" observation.

"Unless our captain objects, you're all hired. Or joining our team for convenience's sake, as is Amberly's case."

"Now we have to take care of purchases."

[Haspen]

"We want medicines. Lysander can't heal all of us at once if a disaster strikes. I don't think we will be buying anything else..."

[Swordstar]

"Another heal staff maybe? If we don't know when we will next see a shop, it might be helpful to have a spare."

[Haspen]

"Hmm, right. A healing staff and medicines."

[I_Like_Pi]

"Maybe a bigger axe? Just for the extra oomp."

[Sirus]

: "The Matron Mother provided me with a tome and medicine for emergencies. I shouldn't need anything else, and of course the medicine will go to anyone who needs it."

[Swordstar]

"Maybe... Maybe a knife for me? I'm not entirely confident in using one yet but I'm doing my best to learn..."

[Caellath]

"I have a mental list ready, I just need to check the weaponsmith to be sure of something." Claude started going through his notes again before he left the tavern.

Purchase a Heal Staff (500g) and three Vulneraries (900g) then head to the Weaponsmith to haggle.

Claude obtained all the healing things from the apothecary, provided in a big bag so he didn't spill all of it while carrying the rest of the stuff.

Then he got to the blacksmith and stood there staring at him.

... Can I help ya?

"I have a small list of weapons for purchase here and I'm sure we could reach an agreement over a small courtesy discount."

[Solymr]

The blacksmith lets out a loud huff at Claude's "suggestion".

Small courtesy discount? What for, I can't do that! If word spreads that I gave *you* a discount every single one of these bilge rats will ask for one! Stated price only. What're ya lookin' for?

[Caellath]

"It's not like giving me a discount would be harmful. I don't go around telling. Also, we're purchasing some weapons because it's convenient, so not getting a little incentive means I'll have to return to my crew with only the minimum."

[Solymr]

The blacksmith grumbled a bit.

Yer one of Ethan Valle's crew, right? Well, here's an incentive for ya: I'm not discountin' any, but I'll say that there were some bounty hunters around 'ere earlier, askin' for 'im. And since information is valuable, still want to waste time hagglin'?
