The release is at least necessarily closer with every passing day.

Thanksgiving would be nice, but I'm not expecting it.  If nothing else, I'd be surprised if Toady wasn't too busy preparing for that to even work on the game today.

I thought he would release after fixing the bugs he promised to fix. He didn't. Maybe there is a constant crash he didn't solve yet.

It is closer with each passing day for those of us experiencing time in a linear, calendar oriented manner. The launch is X+Y seconds from now so each moment brings us closer. Destroying that assumption will likely break my grasp on reality(frail as it may be).

He did say in the monthly report that he may hold onto it a few days after the bug fixing for final tests, so it doesn't necessarily mean anything bad.

And that assumption doesn't even take into account general relativity. It gets closer every day for us, but it may get closer for some faster than others, especially if any Bay12ers happen to be in a near-light-speed spaceship right now.

Let's try that again without setting any init options. Yeah, seems to be working ok now.

Oh..and crash to desktop.

Geh...  I suppose we'll sort that out on the tracker or the release thread.

Well, I've got part of a save folder generated. So that might help. Off to the tracker, I guess (3 attempts, 3 crashes so far. 2/3 on finalizing worldgen).

Got a couple of worlds working.
Lots of dwarf bone artifacts in current world.  :D
But haven't spotted any holy relics yet as far as I can tell.

Ha ha, yeah, the goblin kidnapped dwarves are especially prolific for some reason.  Hmm, perhaps holy relics are part of the problem then.  They'd be mentioned in the artifact legends listing, as well as under the human temples during storage, I think.

Crash at end of worldgen for me.

I'll close some applications and try again.
