"I know most of them. My father was good friends with the previous emperor, despite their disagreements. Many times have I walked the halls of the castle, as well as the streets. Each time, I enjoyed it less and less."

Agilulf folds his arms as he smiles to himself.
"Perhaps it's less the city and more the company your father kept?"

Abdul pulled out a gourd with some liquid in it

He takes a deep gulp

"Stops the whispers with the least amount of headache effendi. It's better when ice-cooled though."

The hooded figure standing behind Caderyn has their head flicker ever so slightly in Caderyn's direction.
"Threats to his....legitimacy?"

[SOLDIER First]

He sighs, slightly adjusting his cloak.

"...Apologies. I just don't like this topic of conversation very much."

Pitua looks even more confused. "Uhh... What? Are you saying that... y-you are a threat to the Emperor's rule? Are you of noble blood?!"

Abdul raised his arms in cheer.

"Oh come on. The subhumans here in the north are free. I swear on my fathers camels, you guys just don't know how to be happy. It could be so much worse, but you get to spent your remaining time in any way you choose to, celebrate it! Buy a boat! Learn how to paint! Lay with a woman who is married to someone of higher standing and never see her again!"
