Yeah, I had several solutions because I assumed the order of the elements in the parts wouldn't matter unless otherwise noted. I managed to get to just one by forcing them to the order given in the hint, as Felissan half-accidentally reminded me.

Spirits... Grob does not understand your messages, but needs help. A storm took us far from the reef with pearls, the sails torn, and the clan scattered. It is only Grob and a few others on this island, and the others look to Grob. Grob did not realize that being shaman would be so hard. And Maluk looks at Grob with anger, says Grob should not have killed Kran. Are the spirits angry with Grob? Is that why they sent the storm?

Hmm? Oh, no, we're not spirits. Also, some storms are just bad luck. Even if it wasn't, we had nothing to do with them (or at least, I didn't).

Ah... so you're on an island, right? Any trees, animals, anything that you guys could eat?

Grob does not understand how not-spirits speak through stone. There is food, lobsters and small fish not quick enough to escape our divers. But Grob does not see clean-water nearby, only the ocean. And their were many other ships of the clan besides Grob's. Grob does not know where these ships landed.

The winds blow where they will? Is this will-of-the-wind a not-spirit? Grob does not understand.

The wind, presumably, doesn't have any associated spirit. It's just air. We have no idea why it does what it does.

Now, I ask you again: are there plants nearby? Especially coconuts. They have water in them, so they can help you with not dying of dehydration.

Well, I can vouch that none of the other scroll users he has visited have disappeared.

I know that probably isn't much considering most of us have never met face to face, but I think you can trust him.

Grob does not understand not-spirits, and wind with will but not spirit. But coconut water is good to drink.

Others seek guidance from Grob. Do we fix rafts and leave, or are we meant to be here? Are the others close by? Grob does not know.
