How to make a custom ranged weapon fire faster?

Is there anyway to alter the fire-rate of a ranged weapon?  All I can do is make the bash attack faster.  :\

(This is probly a case of it's really obvious and easy, or nigh impossible.)

Well then. Guess I wont be making that repeating crossbow after all.  Any workarounds? Like firing multiple bolts per attack?

Isn't it possible to adjust the ATTACK_PREPARE_AND_RECOVER token to allow it to fire faster?
in the original raws these values are all at [ATTACK_PREPARE_AND_RECOVER:3:3], if you make it [ATTACK_PREPARE_AND_RECOVER:1:1]
wouldn't they fire faster?

You'd think that, wouldn't you? That's about the first thing we tried when the current combat system went in. It does nothing to ranged attacks.

The ATTACK_PREPARE_AND_RECOVER tokens only matter for melee attacks with the weapon or ammo - like Putnam said, ranged weapon editing is very limited currently.
