The Senatorial Speaker (Closest thing the GDSU has to a president or a prime minister) accepts the gift of the airship, and agrees to join in a peaceful relationship. Furthermore, the Senate decides to ship many traditional Gralnistani delicacies and odds-and-ends mechanic devices as a show of thanks and acceptance of trade relations. Adjilian traders will now be allowed to trade with the civilian populace (to a limited extent, like not giving them armaments and expensive/dangerous magitech devices and such), and in formal with governmental authority. The Senate requests that no airship armed heavier than a trader with a few anti-pirate guns go unauthorized into GDSU airspace. Diplomats will be invited to the Capitol Harvest Festival, held anually, and featuring traditional foods, dancing, and other such festivities.

GDSU scientists begin studying the airship to gauge compatibility with the current factory infrastructure, what will be required to match standards, what the GDSU cannot produce en-masse, and various other specifications to learn more on aircraft design.

Finally, the Senate (due to popular petition by the people) begin to form the framework of a sort of international emergency trade union, which is intended to join several nations for the purpose of ensuring protection in numbers to defend from a possible future war. At the moment, it's still just a framework, given that the Senate is of varying opinion, and prone to occaisonal squabbles.

I'm afraid that most Adjilian airships are made by dredging up old wrecks, refurbishing them, and attaching huge balloons to them. You can find Viking Longboats, Chinese Junks, and the front half of the Titanic among the Adjilian Sky Navy. We sent some of the smaller Junks. Definitely on the larger end of the airship spectrum.

Yes, we're working on making ones from scratch, but we work with what we have.

Anyway, thanks for the trade offer. We graciously accept, and will hold to your terms. Our diplomats are on their way.

Unlike Cygnus Dominion Air Destroyers. About the size of a WW1 destroyer and similar capabilities and purpose. Also our navy consists of a cruiser sitting on the lake adjacent to the capital, being otherwise landlocked a conventional navy was pointless.

The Adjilian airships are seaworthy, though. Y'know, being boats and all.

The GDSU effectively does not have a navy. It is mostly landlocked, and the only areas touching water are far north in cold and rocky places, far from any major population centers. There is the occasional gunboat on the river systems and lakes, but little else. Sadly, this also means that air pirates set up bases in the north, though they're small and easily cleared out by the odd army patrol. The craft that they have are effectively universally falling apart at the seams, small, weak, and generally bad, thus unsuitable for professional study. This does mean that the GDSU does have information on airships, just not ones fit for battle.

Well, we could certainly help you out with refurbishing captured pirate airships into proper sky-worthy vessels.

The Senate agrees that having air naval professionals on board would be a good idea, and request that both nations create their own version of the deal, and then proceed to adjust the terms to satisfaction of both parties.

You mentioned you have no navy. Well, we basically have no army. Well send some navy trainers over your way, you send some infantry/cavalry/artillery/etc. trainers our way. Sound like a deal?

Our Deal:

Send some Naval Professionals (Officers, Designers, Engineers), and we will provide either raw material, or trainers of our own in an area of your choice.

Given that they line up fairly well, the Senate has voted to accept your deal, looking forward to the stronger bond it will bring.

A number of officers skilled in both squad-level tactics, and a few trained in managing larger detatchments. Along with this, engineers trained to aim artillery, along with a few skilled spotters will be brought along. Finally, several military equine trainers will be sent, in regards to handling a horse during battle and getting them used to loud noises, along with a few ideal horse breeds for both cavalry, and hauling artillery pieces.

If necessary, I'll get back to you on this tomorrow. Suffice it for now to say, were sending you some of the people who set up our ships, some teachers from the academy, and some ship captains.

Year 2: The year of politics and trade.
Following lengthy political negotiations between Adjilla and several other nations the historians had forgotten, the maps of the coast began to fill in. The Hostorians also built a small library in a valley in a large mountain range so as to keep the knowledge. The scribes took to the papsr, and began to write things down...
The GDSU was one of the first new nations to be discovered, by the coast. Following the historians informing them of their neighbor's existance, trade deals began, and airships were bought and sold. Ecstatic about the new opportunities, they began to form trade systems, and began studying the airship they recieved to try and use it for making new airships of their own.
Tesngar was quickly found. It was such a large nation that they practically were trodding around in it discovering small mountain tribes without even realising the massive empire they were standing in. After taking down info on the nation, the scholars mostly fled, not wanting to get apin any sort of tangle with the enormous powerhouse of a nation. Their army let them go, however, and did not partake in the flurry of trade deals that was ensuing in the other nearby nations.
The Cygnus dominion was also found, nearby to the library founded by the historians, who started looking for a fancy name to give themselves. Built in a giant valley, they were'nt very big on international relations, and didn't deal much with the outside world. They did, however, accept the gift of an airship from Adjila, and opened a border city for trade with them.
Adjilla went about trading with other nations, and gave airships to nearly, if not every single nation in the region. Public opinion increased, and generally good times were had by all.
But...
A volcano has erupted in the blrder between Cygnus and the GDSU!
Towns were destroyed, and roads crumbled, as the volcano increased it's destruction. However, before anything could be done, the new year reared it's head...
The GM begins thinking about ways of better displaying updates.

Adjilia sends aid to those effected by the volcano. While we cannot get near the volcano during the eruption, our airships are the quickest method of transportation; we help to evacuate nearby towns by having people board our ships to be relocated to areas outside the range of disaster.

14 years until Ark-class airships.

The Cygnus Dominion's Gun Crawlers (Caterpillar tracks, engine and chassis normally meant for carrying artillery pieces through muddy environments such as trench battlefields) are ideal for both heavy lifting and getting to areas that wheeled vehicles cannot, it is a simple matter to remove the guns and attach a dozer blade to the front to assist with disaster relief efforts. More conventional trucks are used where possible however as the gun crawlers are slow at best.

Out from the heartlands of the Capitol area, soldiers, doctors, and army engineers are deployed onto steam locomotives, and run the far-reaching spiderweb of rail networks to the area affected by the volcano, to provide relief.

In the meantime, scientists in the GDSU, using newfound knowledge from the Adjilian airships, begin drawing up plans for a class of lightly-armed troop transports, for speedier deliver to where the rail networks cannot reach.
