The bay12 Nations game.
« on: August 10, 2017, 03:48:10 pm »

Basically, you start a nation. Then, you post facts and stuff about it's culture, background, miliatary, government, cetc. You can make your own, or jump on the bandwagon of s bigger one.
Making big emoires to invade smaller ones will be determined by dice rolls done by the GM, but aside from that are fully O.K.
I will not take notes. You must compile the information on your nation yourself.
I will put links to postd here if requested.
This is set in a pre - modern future, think WW1, with steampunk and maybe magic that ypu lot can develop yourselves.
Ready,
Se,
GO!

Year 1 A.G.E: the year of the demonstration.
This was the year that [redacted] was such a massive event in the world, that the various peoples made a new calendar around it.
It was then decreed that all posts would be counted as being in chronologica order, and that when a new official post was made, the year would end.
The first thing that was noted in the new era, after the historians finally gpt around to re writing the histpry books after [REDACTED], they  found Adjila, a proud seaside nation dueled by Airships, it's culture, qnd magitek.
Not much changed, and the historians decided to set out, to find the other nations that they had forcefully forgotten after [REDACTED]. Who know ps what lay ahead... But one thing was for certain, this year was going to be a long one.

The Adjilians send one mid-sized airship each to the Cygnus Dominion and to the GDSU as symbols of goodwill, with offers to enter into trade relations with both.

The Cygnus Dominion accepts the gift and authorise traders from Adjilia to operate in the Fortress city of Syndrome Pass. (the only border city that has provision for foreign traders)
They also invite the Adjilian diplomats to watch the 33rd annual military parade commemorating the victory against the last nation to try and invade the Dominion.

The Adjilian government accepts the invitation graciously, and sends their diplomats as requested.

Don't worry about an invasion from us; we prefer to trade with the people who leave us alone and move out when people try to invade.

Speaking of which, Adjilian airship makers are currently developing a new, Ark-class ship, suitable for use as a city. It will be about the size of the Titanic, and is equipped with farm plots and the equipment needed for farming, lumber, and large-scale fishing. The first working prototype will likely not be finished for another 5 years, it will take about another 5 to 10 years to get fully approved, and after that, it'll probably take another 2 years per Ark to build and stock it before they can be sent up as true flying cities. So, give it 15 years before we have those.

Nation name: Tasngar
Government type: Enlightened Dictatorship (Effectively, a technocratic council chooses the next dictator on the basis of their skills, potential and character)

Terrain/Location: Due to the large size of Tasngar, the geography of it's homeland is varied; from coastal plains to forests and mountain ranges and everything in-between, giving it a diverse landscape, if predominantly temperate. Furthermore, Tasngar maintains several overseas colonies.

Focus: Supremacy; Tasngar focuses less on one or two specialities and more on.... practically everything to keep a competitive edge against other great powers. So while it may not be the best at everything, it generally has several advantages to work with.

Military description: Large, well organised and highly trained, the Tasngari military prides itself on being one of the best, if not the best, military in the world. It's officers are given particularly large amounts of initiative compared to their counterparts in other nations, and are trained to effectively use.To add to this, the Tasngari military is extremely well equipped;
  • Artillery, machine guns and trench guns are present in every division with some units having semi-automatic rifles & sub-machine guns. Armoured vehicles and trucks are limited, though enough that a few divisions have been entirely 'Motorised'.
  • The navy boasts some of the largest and most heavily armed and armoured seagoing vessels in the world, and early experiments with aircraft carrying ships have begun in earnest.
  • The air force not only consists of airships but also large quantities of aeroplanes; effectively able to give their ground forces more support in battle, and a means of harrying enemy airships without needing to use an airship.
International policy: Interventionalist; The Tasngari have no qualms in interfering in others affairs, regardless the reason for doing so. Operating on a policy of realpolitik Tasngar uses what opportunities it gets to advance the nation.

Main product(s): Manufactured Goods

You, too, get a free airship. You probably don't need it, but you're getting one.
