Actually, we know how Violet and Donny "think": Violet starts by defending and then copies our last move, while Donny starts by stealing and then copies our last move. As such, for Violet, we gift, steal, defend, and repeat, while for Donny, we defend, gift, steal, repeat. For Harold, I think they may be the same, except they start by gifting, so we'll steal, defend, gift, repeat. After these AIs, though, I have no idea what'll happen.

Glass is, as usual, correct.
Yep, as ever, I bestow upon Glass the expected +1
I'm gonna say we go with whatever Glass's idea is.

You know, these hardly strike me as very advanced AIs if they use so terribly predictable strategies. I will admit that the "always defend" strategy is only best when we don't know the opponent's next move.

Eh, their nothing too impressive. Only one of them straight copied the last move by the other player though. Yes, that means at least one of Glass's AI assesments were wrong then. Anyway, made this game because of another web game that piqued my interest in Prisoner's Dilemma. For reference.

Anyway, I made this because I wanted to play against AIs like the first part of that web game, but I was already spoiled the personalities of them the second time around. Hosting one and watching other people was the next best thing.

Then Donny probably cycles.

Defend. Starting with defense is safe.
Good enough call to start with, Harold opened up by gifting you the first round. All in all, I'd say that was pretty nice of him, right? Harold smiles an innocent smile.

 - You gained 3 points.
 - Harold lost 1 point.
 - Maximum total points possible... I admit, I haven't yet tested the optimal anti-Harold strategy.

 - Bay12's score: 3
 - Harold's score: -1

Do you defend, gift, or steal?

Defend again. I'd like to see the reaction.

You defend. Unfortunately, Harold defended too. That's a bummer, but not a huge loss I suppose.

 - You gained 0 points.
 - Harold gained 0 points.

 - Bay12's score: 3
 - Harold's score: -1

Gift then Steal. Lets test this theory that he copies us like the previous two appeared to have done.

You Gift and Harold Defends. You lost a point and Harold gains three, but let's see what that does for your trust.
 - You lost 1 points.
 - Harold gained 3 points.

As predicted, he responds by gifting now. Now you steal from him. That was a nice move.
 - You gained 2 points.
 - Harold lost 4 points.

 - Bay12's score: 4
 - Harold's score: -2

Just to let you know I'm done with this. If anyone is interested I made a Game Maker Lite version that I made to use for myself that works basically the same way.
Anyway, the AI personalities were:
Violet:Paranoid: Opens with Defend. Copies player move (repeats). If Violet Gifts twice in a row, Defends.
Donny: Jerk: Opens with Steal followed by Defend. Copies player move (repeats). If player Gifts twice in a row, Steals then Defends.
Harold: Trapper: Opens with Gift. Copies player move (repeats). If player Gifts three times in a row, Steals then Defends.
Noah: Helper: Opens with Gift. Gifts (repeats). If player does not Gift twice in a row, Defend.
Dawn: Punisher: Opens with Defend. Copies player move. Copies player move turn before last (repeats).
Clara: Stratbot: Opens with Gift. Copies player move (repeats).
