Kaito takes a knee at the edge of the ledge, settling his PDW and calmly focusing on Dahn. It may not have the kick of the gauss, but it'd do for overwatch shooting if the bugs got fiesty.

Danh carefully slides down along the incline and into the sludge.

The Spiderbeetles does not immediately react and continue to do their skittering about and working the storage.

Shuddering, keeping his mouth shut, Danh tries not to look at the filth around him, and begins his slow, calm walk to the pillar.
He's actually really scared.

 A few nearby Spiderbeetles stops what they're doing and watches curiously at the big bulky thing wading through their carefully packed lasagna.

Vigil is just going to gather the samples since everyone seems to be ignoring his idea.

Vigil carefully drops into the sludge too to gather some samples of the lasagna.

Meanwhile, Danh wades further through waist-high sludge of half-digested stuff. There's more spiderbeetles here and they too stop to watch him.

Heart thumping in his chest, he wants to grab his gun, and start shooting, but that's a bad idea.
He keeps wading further and further in.

Vigil is going to notice where Dahn is headed and scan the room, making sure that the pulled makes for a good weakpoint, and seeing if he can find a better one.

Akras have already located the best strategic location to plant the bombs, you won't find a better spot, trust us.

Vigil scoops some of the Lasagna into a secured samples container, getting who knows what..

The bugs apparently were not very happy about having their food stolen and hisses!

Immediately the bugs in the bowl starts sprinting and leaping on the sludge's surface towards vigil, Danh got a few of them knocked into him and climbed right over, damn near knocking him back into the sludge as the Spiderbeetles ignores him and goes for the sword-wielding man, leaping and latching onto him as they secrete the pheromone to alert the hive that something's stealing food!

They're not able to do a lot of damage, their attempts at shredding him weren't able to go through his suit or helmet, but it sure is scary.

Falling down into the muck, Danh struggles to get up, panickedly looking around. When he sees Vigil getting swarmed, he grins, but then frowns.
"You fucking idiot!" He exclaims over comms, realizing that Mr. "Oh We REALLY Need Samples Guys" may have fucked everything up. Groaning, he begins rushing over to the pillar now. He can hopefully go fast now, with the nightmare critters distracted.
