"Because Ricardo wants to be overly cautious. But you can hold off from fireing bullets and arrows until you can see the enemy. You can't do the same with a grenade.

"Ah, didn't know you two had a psychic connection." Danh deadpans, impatiently waiting.

"And here I thought it was called common sense." Vigil sacasticly retorted to the angry man.

Kaito just sighed quietly, settling in behind his gauss and getting prepared, waiting for everyone to be in position. "I'm firing a gauss, anything behind the door is about to not be there anymore. The risk is things flooding in after I make the hole, not things being behind the door. Locked and loaded Ricardo, say the word once you're ready."

"Danh? Have a grenade ready. Everyone, hunker down. Kaito, you may fire when ready."

Kaito nodded, taking a slow breath, making sure he was braced, then firing off his gauss

Kaito squeezed the trigger and the Anti-Main battle tank weapon made a brief, low whine as the metal stake got supercharged by enough energy to instantly mummified an elephant. The resulting crack were thunderous, dampened only by your suit's audio input. Yet the vibration of the recoil could be felt through the floor and wall, dust, dirt and loose object were blown away akin to a blast from a 120mm cannon. Your suit's gyrostabilizers whines in protest as it briefly fought the wave from throwing you all into the wall.

To say that the blockade was destroyed was like saying that orange juice concentrate is the same as fresh orange juice. It just doesn't cut it.

Most of the loose rocks and shredded wood were obliterated by the force, atomized, poof. Leaving only some debris and a lot of smoke in it's place.

If the bugs didn't know that you're here, they do now.

"Ready weapons!" Ricardo draws his bow

"Ricardo, we should move quickly. Every second we wait makes is much harder to get to the first place we need to go. The storage chamber. Unless we want to be swarmed here, I say we should run and gun." Vigil pulls out his sword, ready to react when he needs, loosening the autodoc, in case it's needed right away.

Ricardo rests his bow and arrow mags by the portal. "Good call. Any objections?" He draws one of his pistols, flicking it to full auto. "We're gonna need to move from here eventually, and anything on the other side is probably gonna be too shocked to react quickly."
