The effect were best described as a magnetically charged metal slugs going through thick layers of cardboard. Leaving behind smoking holes, the webbing seems to be the glue that keeps everything together despite all this. You're sure that you could probably try digging with your bare hands if you wanted to.

Kaito laid his PDW down, reaching for his Gauss to get it set up. "And if you want a larger one... well, I'll get her set up just in case either way. Might clear us a path, I very much doubt those bugs bodies are going to slow it down much."

Vigil took a scan through the hole and didn't really detect anything new. The bugs must be burrowed still.
