Stella sighs, placing down the snowmobile for a moment as she leaves her bed-supplies before heading though the gate.

Dr. Langdon was waiting again, naturally, along with a small crowd of engineers in labcoats and executives in suits. There was a loud cheer as you returned, synthetic sparkling wine was popped. There were loud applause, as by far the longest expedition ever made returned on time.

"Welcome home!" Dr. Langdon cried, as a small team came up to spray you with disinfectant gas.

As the gate closed, he added, "Where are the other snowmobiles?"

"Unrepairable unfortunately." Kaito said simply. "It made the trip back more... interesting than we'd hoped."

"Insects used laser turrets." Danh mumbles, eager to get out of the room, out of his suit, and back home. Well, back to his own room. Home enough.
First though, he'd probably have to go to an infirmary or something. That laser burn still ached some, and the invisible horse had attacked him good.

"Yah all of that happened. Also, we fought a giant octopus. By the way, we found a budding civilization. We might want to consider building them a nearby 'Cave', so that we can use the gate freely. Oh! And we also have a very nice surprise in the samples for the science team to play with. Two, in fact."

“There were some minor internal conflicts, although they resolved themselves. We have a few wounded, although the causes are not related.” She touches her cheek. “I may need anti-scar gel. Otherwise, I will be fine.”

Frazz approaches doctor Langdon.

"Doc, I hope you've got your eggheads at the ready, Cus this ones a doozy."

He hands over the case with the artifact

"I also managed to get a whole bunch of stuff sample-wise. All sorts of weirdness with biological evolution similarities. We'll get to those details later."

"Alien life!" Someone said, and people quickly got very excited.

Dr. Langdon picked up one of your helmets. "I'll stream the footage."

He began getting to work setting it up. Soon, the entire party of people would see you scaring the Yetis out of their home.

Danh stands with his arms folded, staring at the higher-ups as well, just waiting for someone to bitch about how they did their jobs, ready to snap angrily at anyone.

Vigil facepalms and just walks out of the room. He had business to take care of.

The video played through from Danh's helmet cam of coming up to the cave, of your conversations, of the terrified locals. The party seemed very concerned as the yetis panicked.

Xin from Public Relations tried to get on damage control right away, assuring people that Akras will do everything they can for them. It didn't go over well, only confirming to people that the team had done something upsetting.

Dr. Langdon was able to break it up. "No, not to worry. Judging by these scans, they're just animals, not quite sentient. It's just like flushing birds from a tree, no lasting harm."

People seemed more accepting at that, but it had definitely brought the tone down. At least, until the captive moth was brought out. Relieved at a cute prop to work with, Xin was able to reclaim the floor, and talk about the amazing and wonderful discoveries Akras was making. People relaxed again, easily forgetting anything had been wrong. The few who did were talking about setting up a shelter or nice enclosure for them at the remote facility, so they aren't displaced too far from their homes.

Work suit off, and in jeans and a breathable shirt, when the news of how the public reacted to the news of the pre-sapient species, he smiled. He was worried, and he knew he was soon to be reprimanded for opening his mouth, but, everything worked out in the end. He got what he was hoping for. A way to guarantee that the Yetis would be cared for.
He sat at his desk, looking over the finances of the company. The mission length set them back by a few weeks, but, with a little bit of heavy marketing, and financing some upgrades, and maybe buying a training robot might help with future missions. But, that all would need to be planned out, and double checked through Ricardo.

Kaito walked off just after the announcements, heading to his room for a long warm shower, then down to see what foods he could pick up today... it had been a while since he'd cooked a proper meal. He'd let the mission play over again in his head as he went, thinking on what had gone wrong, where they could have done better... and where it was just bad luck. Though even simple misfortune was good to analyze, as there were always ways to minimize the risks.
