Just some points:

1. Do we actually know the specific reason why wagons scuttle?
2. Would it be possible to edit the raws to make it so wagons have their own legs that they walk on?
3. Would that prevent them from scuttling?

I think there was a thread where someone made a wagon man. It passed through all enemies and couldn't fit in most doorways af far as I know.

1. Wagons (and pack animals) scuttle when they get scared. That typically happen when the see half a goblin tooth left over from the last siege. Wagons deconstruct when scuttling, while pack animals flee.
2. Wagons are due to be redesigned when moving machinery is introduced. This lies beyond the Myth & Magic and Starting Scenario arcs, so it's probably more than 5 years away.
3. Clean the front yards so there are no pieces of sapients lying around. Also make sure not to embark where evil rains occur.

I thought wagons scuttle when their pack animals flee for any reason; that it weren't the wagons themselves getting scared. Of course it's hard to tell when in one tick you see a wagon and then there's only three pieces of wood and a mountain of loot for the haulers to drag away...

Funnily enough, in adventure mode those same wagons are moving happily under their own power, squeezing through doorways and climbing stairways etc.
