: The burden of trying to eliminate evil might kill you, and there are much bigger, obscure, and insidious sources of evil than people like Magruder. While sharing your burden will ease it, there will always be another Magruder lurking in the shadows unless you can somehow take on the root of it. Domenico smirked. Who knows? Maybe this group can do it after all.

Domenico started making his way towards the door again.

: Now if you'll excuse me... I need to do something important.

Vahn didn't trust that smirk.

"I'm going to tail him. You check on everyone else, and no argument - this is a one-man job. I've been doing this a lot longer and the more of us there are, the more likely he'll notice he's being followed."

A few seconds after Domenico left the church, he stood and followed him out as unobtrusively as he knew how.

Seraphiel grabbed Vahn's arm and stopped him from leaving.

"No. I don't trust him either, and I even think he could be the spy everyone was talking about. But you know he's right, too."

"You know that continuing will eventually kill you. After everything we have gone through... Do you still not trust us?"

Miss Felicia has a worn down javelin as well, maybe you could take that one and just switch when the time comes. You also have the secret book correct?

"I am placing my trust in you. I have been, since I decided to work with you all when we first met. It's just... this kind of work right now, following someone without being noticed, is more in line with what Grelen and I do."

Vahn sighed.

"I know that's not what you meant. I'm pushing myself too hard. But this is who I am, who I've always been. There may be other people to share the work now but that doesn't mean I'm allowed to do less than I've always done - it just means more work gets done in all."

"I just... don't know any other way to be."

"You can be Vahn Brannon. I know there's more than just a feared and ruthless bandit slayer. There's a kind man, that wished to give the weak hope by fighting for a good cause, that hoped to make the world a better place for the rest. A good storyteller, a skilled herbalist and a wise teacher. And there are ways other ways to do good that doesn't involve fighting."

"You can be who you have been to me all of this time. I still remember the first day we meet. You said that a pitchfork could be used for moving hay or killing a man. The way I see it is that you have been killing bandits for a long time, but that doesn't mean that you can't still change and be something else if you try. I know that people can change, and I'm proof of it. Just look at me."

"I did say that, and I meant it."

"But there's a time and place. I can't rest just yet. Once we're done here... then, sure."

"...Yes, I would just be a load to you in this situation. But if it gets dangerous, promise me that you will try to return instead of continuing alone."

Okay then I think it's time to put the order in then! Jackal buys the steel throwing axe, killing edge and two concoctions and sells his Training Bow

Just to make it clear, Vahn is stalking Domenico from the shadows.

After getting a couple of bottles of Theodor's new brew, Evelyn gave Jackal the two weapons he asked for in exchange of his old bow and more gold.

: You still have a bit of gold left. Do you want anything else?
Grelen was following Yuri, who had taken two men with him, from the forests towards the place the bandit had indicated. But they didn't get too far, as Yuri stopped in the middle of a clearing and discussed something with the others. Soon after, each of the three took off in a different direction, Yuri going forwards, one of the men to the forests to the side and the other straight towards where Grelen was hiding.
Vahn was following Domenico, who went where the group had previously stood their ground against the incoming bandits and raiders. That is, until Domenico entered the ruins of the house nearby.

Vahn slinks into the shadows of the nearest tree, stubbing out his cigarette for the moment, and watches the house carefully while keeping his ears open for anyone else approaching.

Anna reorganizes her storage, and stumbles upon a particular book.

Hm... this seems to be a book about improving your reflexes. I should ask the others.

Grelen quickly assessed the situation, checking the brush to the left and behind him. If possible, Grelen glides quietly away from the soldier moving towards him, out of sight. However, if it looks like he might be spotted, Grelen draws his steel knife and a rope and prepares to quietly take down and gag the approaching soldier in a nonlethal way, making minimal noise.
