Friend of mine has pitched INTOXICON, the superhero who gets stronger the more alcohol is imbibed.

That's interesting... how strong are we talking here?

Anyway, that's one of those interesting powers because you can't really easily use it for good or bad. If you get drunk, you get strong, but getting slobbering drunk and then going out to fight crime is generally a bad idea, and getting drunk and then robbing a bank is probably even dumber.

Then again, this person is drunk, so he already isn't at the height of human intellect.

"Snowflame's religion is cocaine worship"

I don't think Intoxicon is quite that far gone :3

Well. Powers that require you to pay a cost in order to use them.

Say, the ability to transfer youth from person to person. You can cause someone you touch to age rapidly in one direction, provided you age rapidly in the other direction.

Uses?

Obvious personal immortality benefit.
Definite drawback of potentially having to be ancient to use properly; otherwise, you'd become too young to kill someone. Therefore, could bring self close to death, and definite weakness.
Another benefit would be making people who have studied something like martial arts all their lives young again (presumably with temporarily donated youth), then let 'em rip on the enemy.

Yeah that's totally the wise old sage that guides and assists superheroes rather than engaging in direct combat.

How about when he turns back your age he also reverses wounds and poisons and the like? Anything that did not exist at that time of your life, that is.

But then he can't accelerate your age to the same time again without the injuries returning?

Just to give him a limit, really. When turning back someone with intent to heal, maybe he can only work five years or something? Because it "takes more super-magic" than normal time reversal?

Actually, maybe not five years. A sliding scale impacted by the severity of injury? A splinter would put you back a second, a jagged gut wound a few years.

I'm actually now imagining a plot line which ends with a youthful super trying to heal his dead son, pumping more and more years into him, hoping that eventually he'll hit just enough to heal death...

Nope. Just normal tears.
And now I'm imagining someone crying, but instead of tears, it's tiny skulls

What about someone that could completely control the growth of their keratin?

Pangolin playing on demand, no longer a functional need for clothes, instant functional claws, modular eyebrows.
The ability to strengthen and weaken your skin at will?
