OOC: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=164864.0

Right now you are falling down onto the streets of Seattle, and your respective HUD's are blaring warnings as you started to approach the small window of opportunity you have to land in a suitably flashy and patriotic manner..instead of splashing down on the pavement and making yourself easy pickings for even the weakest member of the Coup d'etat forces.

As you enter the window another and much more clear message flashes into your respective HUD's, it simply stated "Current Goal: Land Safely and Patriotically down in the streets of Seattle", and with a flick of a switch every single one of your mechs activated their single use "P.A.T.R.I.O.T." safe landing systems, and the dreary Seattle skies were filled with an explosion of color...as the sweet sweet sound of music filled the air...( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mRn9chmRAY).

But of course as you know from the mission briefing, all this will do is make your descent much more patriotic and much more controlled, and you have just enough thrust and time to try and slow your descent down onto the rough Seattle streets by either:

>Rushing towards a nearby skyscraper, just do your best to use whatever passes as your hands or another relatively sharp object to slide technically safely down to the ground, at the cost of defacing and probably destroying an entire skyscraper by yourself.
>Using the remaining thrust to propel yourself upwards just enough for the fall to hopefully be bearable for your bones and your mech's leg systems
>(Only available if you can fly) Just fucking turn up your engines some more and use the remaining fuel in the landing system to turn the music up to 11

Blutt guides his mech towards the nearest building, Slashing it to pieces as he passes into it.  The slashes make the skyscraper too fragile to slow his fall, but he doesn't care, he slashes into the ground too.  The important thing is that he might have killed some people.

>Using the remaining thrust to propel yourself upwards just enough for the fall to hopefully be bearable for your bones and your mech's leg systems

"I'll KILL this SKYSCRAPER!!!" he shouts, his katana being drawn in one fluid motion.

Barron just sits calmly on his throne of a cockpit. He casually adjusts his tie before snapping his fingers. A control panel rises up from the floor and Trunk quickly starts inputting commands. It only took a couple of seconds before the Barron Walker did a salute, launching red, white and blue smoke before transforming into Trunk Tower mode.

>Using the remaining thrust to propel yourself upwards just enough for the fall to hopefully be bearable for your bones and your mech's leg systems

The large tower activated it's thrusters to slow their fall. Barron knows Trunk Tower can handle the fall but one should try and keep damage to a minimum.

Mr First wonders at why the directors did not think that a flashy teleport would be patriotic enough

Turn up the maglev system to 11 to bleed off speed, then teleport to where the others are, probably damaging some infrastructure with an orbiting ... orb

((probably technically the flying one))

Edit: The maglev will probably cause damage to the road at that level, as it will be levitating off of the metal infrastructure under the surface

Lieutenant Rushmore's plating shifts as its internals disgorge a salvo of missiles. The weapons immediately attach to the back of the mech, their thrusters flaring to life.

>Use thrusters to stop fall and fly. Use remaining PATRIOT fuel to help maneuever as to crash through a window of the skyscraper. Rip out a support pillar, attach missiles to it (but don't activate them just yet) and blast out from the other side of the building.

Raymond completely fails to notice that there is no longer a floor.  But after a few seconds of Looney Tunes hang time, it occurs to him that his allies have all left, so he directs the Swinging Statesman after them.

Blutt tries to completely and utterly destroy what is apparently nothing but a large symbol of corporate oppression and male over compensation, and he succeeds in turning it into nothing but several disturbingly large and blood covered black roses while trying his best to not turn into a blood soaked metal pancake himself.

His thrusters manages to slow down his descent patriotically enough for him to mark his inevitable fall with what can't even be described as a blatant disregard for human life by this point, as he was presumably aiming his sword at the civilians underneath him as he recklessly did his best to carve an X symbol to the ground beneath him for some reason or other.

This causes an X shaped trench to be created on the ground, and the odd angle of his landing leads to one of his thread/feet falling into the trench, which probably would have inconvenienced him somewhat. (cont. in Wolfchild post)

>A disturbing amount of dead civilians are strewn around your feet, and more civilians are fleeing south; presumably heading away from the downtown area you were supposed to travel to.

Empiricist
You are rather disappointed to find that the building you dynamically enter has very small support pillars contained within it, but at the very least you should be rather pleased by how you managed to grab a fully intact support pillar without causing the entire building to momentarily pretend that it was some badly planned tower in Pisa before falling.

Your dynamic exit through the building was rather uneventful, except for the bit where a large swathe of your mech's makeshift thrusters malfunctioned a bit, this causes you to momentarily lose control of your mech and start to crash through a nearby stack of elevated highways; which did manage to slow down your descent to a snail's pace, but it also annoyed an uncountable amount of traffic goers, and lets not mention the surprisingly low amount of people you squished.

>Somehow the pillar you are carrying is completely and utterly unscathed, what a feat of American engineering eh?
>You are currently standing on a pile of rubble and crushed automobiles, you vaguely remember that you are supposed to head downtown to fight against...something. Either way you think that you should head north.

Wolfchild
You rip out large swathes of the piping system in the roads beneath you in a stunning display of electromagnetism, SCIENCE!, and both annoying and rescuing Blutt as his mech is ripped out of the hole he dug from himself and yanked up to the sky...before being momentarily yanked to the side again as Mr. First's mecha teleported over to where Brinkman Bill was presumably trying to stand up again.

Exlink32
You land on the black rose covered ruins of the great skyscraper that Blutt destroyed for absolutely no reason whatsoever, I mean there isn't anything else to say really, you managed to land without any problems or broken bones; just...good job.

DragonRage
As the only person here that actually got a flying mech with no strings attached to it, you didn't even need the P.A.T.R.I.O.T. thrusters to do anything more than seeming like a fourth of July celebration, which is why you are also the only person in the group that didn't end up causing property damage.

Everyone
You presumably detach the now useless PATRIOT systems from the back of your mech, and after spending a few moments to get your bearings...and to wait for Barron to reconfigure his tower back into a mech you realize that you now need to:

>Get to the downtown area to commence your next mission objective as swiftly and patriotically as possible

You are pretty sure that the downtown area is north of here, past the study looking wall of glass and steel skyscrapers that block your way, although you feel that you could just as easily take a detour around that wall instead of cutting through it.

"Ugh, the Weak should just... DIE." Blutt complains, just BARELY restraining himself from chasing after the fleeing civilians.

They are lucky that I only used One Percent of my power.  He grumbles, before looking at the path ahead.

"I can't believe... Civilization itself would betray me..." he cries a single tear of pure metal mixed with blood that flows down his X-Shaped Scar when he sees that someone built all these buildings in his way.

"You've forced my hand.  I'm going to... to KILL those SKYSCRAPERS!" he says, carving through buildings in his path to make a trail for his allies.

Barron is generally annoyed by Blutt's actions. Not only does he have no regard for the property damages and goes out of his way to do so. Also, the fact that he's okay with just killing civilians is awful. Granted some of them maybe illegals who jumped the boarder, but still. Barron lets out an annoyed sigh before follow in his path of destruction.

"Do not worry, citizens!" Ray calls out to the fleeing innocents, "I am certain that the Flying Spaghetti Monster has already swept up the souls of the dearly departed in his noodly appendages, taking them to farfallehalla where they shall dine on delicious Italian food for all eternity!"  Having done his part of salvage our public image, he proceeds over the skyscrapers, playing some scales on his mech's saxophone to warm up for the battle that's probably coming.

You have successfully cut down several skyscrapers, using your mech's arms to swiftly cut an X shape into each of them before pushing a tiny section of it, this succeeds in destroying a lot of property and generally terrorizing/murdering the populace, but it does take a lot of time...
>You are now surrounded by more destroyed skyscrapers and fleeing civilians, because...well duh

Empiricist
Your success in performing your completely and utterly mundane activity is quite noteworthy, and in fact I can say a lot more about how you removed all of the thrusters on your mech with complete and utter disregard for the safety of yourself and others as you ripped away hot thrusters containing trace amounts of rocket fuel and attached new ones in a speed usually reserved for a pit stop at a grand prix.

Afterwards you leisurely walk over towards your destination, a tough and fortified brick masquerading as a three story gun store known as "The Weapon's World". While looking it over you would notice how it has exactly 51 gun emplacements on it, with each of them resting on a star shaped turret..

Wolfchild
Another person would have shaken their head at Blutt's efforts, but you were too busy focusing on not accidentally merging with the road by teleporting on it to care.

Well the good news is that you are probably going to have a lot of fun with testing out your railguns and the limitations of your teleporters soon. The bad news is that you accidentally teleported too close to the target, and they are now aiming a considerable amount of firepower at you...good luck!

ExLink32
You follow after Blutt as he embarks on a very short quest to cause even more property damage for no reason in particular. Maybe he was just bored or something?...either way you don't really do much but walk at him and try to not get too much dirt on your mech's glass dome.

DragonRage
Let's face it, you can't really calm down a crowd of fleeing innocents by yelling pasta themed and vaguely religious things at them with Blutt committing another act of terrorism in the background, but at least they're not screaming as loud now so...hooray?

Okay so your opponent today seems to be an uninspired looking brick painted in red white and blue and decorated with the traditional 51 stars of the American flag if the stars you know...had weapons.

Raymond fires up his sonic impulse generators, and flies in close, blazing some killer riffs to ward off the incoming fire, and then he drops the beat, creating a burst of kinetic force strong enough to send even a gigantic mecha or building flying.  He attempts to send Weapons World in the direction of Union Bay.  It doesn't seem like it will be very good at floating, or very water-tight.
