I noticed some of the enemies have drops. If we kill the boss, do we lose the drops?

Since the objective is to kill everyone you'll get the drops anyways v:

As for the question, generally speaking if the objective is something like 'kill (person)' or 'reach (line/column)' or 'survive # turns' or whatever, then once that condition is filled the map automatically ends and treasures/drops are lost and we don't get EXP for the enemies we didn't defeat.

I think either is fine. Dancing is a buff because it gives an extra move.
I think you should try finishing the arsonist low on health.
