One Dice: (4) NUKE9.13,Tack, Milo, Madman
Use all wood for variable materials: (3) Milo, Andrea, Tack

New Designs:
None: (5) NUKE9.13, Milo, Andrea, Madman, Jilladilla
Slow and steady progress on the Dragun, lesser chance of RNGesus screwing us over if it ever turns out that we need it NOW and we decide to 'rush' it in response. (By rush I mean throwing dice at the problem, not by using the free dice for bugs exchange program.)
As for investing dice into the mining project? Ambivalent between spending one die or two, but progress should be made. Also, like NUKE said, we won't overflow on wood this turn, even if we don't spend another bit of it on BLOCKs (Which we should do anyway). Silk on the other hand, we're at 50/50 at the moment, so we have 6 or 8 to get rid of to avoid overflow.
And unless Draignean comes to correct me on this, Kasgyr doesn't seem to be using gauntlets extensively, so vests for everyone isn't exactly the best investment...

Why are we going for 1 Dice on the Dragon, and One Dice on the Khipa?

The Dragon has absolutely no effect right now, working on it won't do a thing. The best it'll do is tell us not to overinvest next turn, potentially saving us 2 Ore. But honestly, unless we roll a 6, I don't think we'll do that.

Meanwhile, by only investing 1 dice into Khipa we run a far bigger risk of not getting probably bigger payout.

A solid point, ebbor. I don't see much in the way of 'must have' revisions left to do, so we could probably still save a die; still, I stand by my 'slow and steady' statement of earlier.

I'll switch back to two dice, since it has more support now. The sooner we get Khipha online, the better.

The only thing we lose by investing a die in the Dragun this turn is the use of two ore this turn (or an extra revision this turn, but I doubt we want more than three). If you can show me a convincing reason not to invest in it- such as a plan that uses up that two ore, and is substantially better for it- then sure, I'll switch my vote. But as I see it, the cost is low, and the benefit real.

The rolls are coming. Stand by to stand by.

Unless you all complain loudly that you need more time. In which case I'll probably listen.

I'd argue far stronger on only one dice on the Ore than anything other than one on the Dragun.

Two or zero on that means nothing to me, but we all know my opinions on wasted dice- and throwing two into a 3+, even considering our insanely terrible luck- is very wasteful.
More wasted dice means less of my awesome projects end up getting made and so therefore I'm extremely against it.

If anyone is swayed by my impassioned plea, I guess say so before Draig rolls.

There's literally like a 34/36 chance of overflowing.

50% chance to get prototype with one die, 66% chance with two dice. One is good enough.

Also, why are we wasting silk we could spend on protective vests?

Uh, isn't there a 66% chance with one die? 3, 4, 5, 6 would all finish it.
That being said, I prefer to make it a certainty. I mean, what are the odds of us rolling two ones for the prototype results again?

Anyway, there is no way to overflow. Two sixes would not be enough to finish the project.

Exactly the same as they were the first time. Ebbor likes to acuse others of gambler's fallacy, here is a real live example.

1/36. Much better odds of failure than 1/3.

Although you are tempting Murphy a bit there NUKE.

Dragun
Progress: 14/16 (6)

The Dragun cannon nears completion, with the final details of its production being smoothed out.

Khipha Mining Techniques
Progress: 15/25  (4+1)

Progress on the Khipha mining reforms is steady, though with no small number of the expected bureaucratic speedbumps. Honestly, after this is over there might need to be reform of the paper industry, just to recoup the damage done by the endless cycle of paperwork.

Prototype!
[Efficacy: 4 Cost: 1 Bugs: 5+1]

The new Khipha university for the study of Spire Geosciences is still little more than floors and walls under a mostly complete ceiling, and it'll take a good long while before it's operational, but the study plans are mostly in place and the professors are standing by. When it's complete, the college will allow for the training of experts capable of guiding mining teams to the sweetest lodes of valuable minerals, albeit at a price. Projected estimates for how much said mining expeditions are likely to cost has caused more than a little tittering- though the promise of a lucrative of profession for their children (that doesn't involve being shot at) has been key in getting buy-in from several of the wealthier families.

Of more immediate value are the ground-level strategies for equipment modernization. While designed originally so that field scientists could request new gear quickly and easily, the forms also allow for the government to give ordinary miners a shot in the arm by providing new tools and covering shortfalls in mining yields while new equipment is brought in.

Completion Bonus: Professional Mining and Geological Team: Costs: 5 ore, 7 wood, 4 Crystal, 4 silk, occupies demi-spire space as though it were 3 squads of marines | A team of government issue surveyors and miners, lead by a geoscientist from the Khipha university. Causes a spire to produce 1 more ore every turn. Cannot go beyond 150% (rounded up) of the Spire's original production. Upon completion, 2 of these teams are produced automatically for the Home Spire.

Protoype Bonus: Equipment Investments: Costs: Special.  A series of long term investments into the equipment of miners, as well as some administrative bailout in order to cover shortfalls of production so that mining groups can experiment with new techniques without risk of financial loss. This infrastructure allows you to invest ten, twenty, thirty, fourty, or fifty ore, spending it during the production stage. Every year thereafter for ten years, you gain bonus ore equal to a random number between 1/10 and 1/5 of your investment.

It is now the revision Phase. You have 3 dice to spend.

Spire Wreth's production stands at
13/y Crystal, 38/65 Banked
17/y Ore, 11/85 banked
19/y Wood, 73/95 banked
10/y Silk, 38/50 banked
