I meant the items inside each group are mutually exclusive...

Back up, Tack. How are the other revisions NOT "inside the scope of the game"?

Right now: Our gauntlets burn the user, and can't fire for very long. Without testing them, we won't know if they can kill a spider or not.

My revision: Fix the user-burn by adding protection. Fix the fire duration by adding a better cooling system, logically modelled after the cannon one in miniature.

Your revision: Make provision for using Itshana Selects, which can already be used in the regular gauntlet. You want to: Improve the crystal/Aether-projection matrix, protect the user, improve heat dissipation, create a new gauntlet type AND improve the old one, all in one revision.

You accuse someone else of overreaching?

If we're doing both gauntlet revisions, then I guess someone should switch their vote so there's a consensus. And I guess that someone is gonna be me.

Also, High Vigil is fine too. The important thing is we're posting scouts, eliminating their element of surprise.

I do
Quote
WARNING: Cannons have not been modified to compensate for the increased energy output
That's on the Light cannon. I daresay (but admittedly isn't outright stated) the gauntlet would function the same way.
Note it's not a "heat dissipation" problem or a "not enough efficiency" problem.

My revision is simple. Do whatever is needed to make the Itshana Select crystals operate within a gauntlet.
My terminology is so broad so that Draig has a lot to choose from on a high or low roll. If we get a six, no harm in asking for blanket upgrades.
But at the very least these gauntlets must be capable of using the new crystals so they can kill the bugs. Bottom line, first words.

Nobody is going to vote on your proposal Tack. Sorry.

Since we are doing both, let's make it (mostly) unanimous.

If we do both gauntlet proposals, and get ok rolls for both, we will have super gauntlets. Add select crystals and we will have super gauntlets from hell (as far as anyone downrange will be concerned...)

Ah, there's that famed Wrethan bureaucracy.

I'll give things a little bit longer, but after that I'll lock in your two revisions.

Oh hey Draig. Would there be issues putting select crystals into aether gauntlets?
The right answer to that would change my mind completely.

Also, both is an interesting proposition considering the "steeply diminishing returns".

We haven't revised gauntlets yet. If two revisions put us into a noticeable amount of diminishing returns I will be amazed.

Where did "steeply" come from?
Doing two revisions to a thing is not going to be majorly inefficient, especially since they'd be to two different areas.

Oh hey Draig. Would there be issues putting select crystals into aether gauntlets?

Same issue as with cannons. Doubling the power output without modifying the barrel/crystal housing can cause damage to the equipment after only a single shot, while (in the case of the gauntlet) the power draw of the new crystal overtaxes the limited generation ability of the weapon.

So yes, there are significant material issues.

Good thing the efficiency revision includes a stronger alloy for the setting and cage then...

OK, so assuming we're properly refitting it (Using the given AGI revision) for the 20% average increase in power, would we be at risk of destroying things after a single shot, and how easy is this issue to overcome?

Hey, look at it this way: my revision boost the crystal efficiency by mounting it in a better quality cage and aligning it precisely, AGI adds better heat handling. Both together should handle the extra power with no problem. Use a mix of select and normal gauntlets, the normal for faster fire, select to punch out hard targets.

It's a side note, and it's not the revision you're voting for.

It should be a simple one-step process
"Does it Fix the big bugs?"
If not, we should be going in an entirely different direction. That's all.
