Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

Dragun Shell
Stuffing explosives into confined spaces is a time-honored practice of the Department of Destruction, and firing them out of cannons is just another good use of them. By taking a sorta-thin-walled bronze sphere, filling it with our most powerful explosive compound (Be it gunpowder or otherwise), and then giving it a fuse (Which will be lit by the gun's firing), we get an explosion, complete with bronze shrapnel.

Shooting shells should give us quite the boost to killing things. We won't be reliant on fire starting on the enemy ship, we'll do more damage on a successful shot (Cannons explode, and losing crystals is bad), and we get to explode more things.

Aether Forge Efficacy Upgrade
Efficacy: 5
The savant, while a brilliant innovator, was not a forge master by trade. While there are precious few changes in the devices themselves, experienced tradesmen have a number of contributions on how the rig can be set up to increase efficiency and make the design much more commercially viable.

Furnace Upgrades: 2 Crystal 2 Ore 4 Silk | Modernization of existing furnaces allow for ore to be extracted more quickly and efficiently. Increase's a spire's ore production by 1, up to a max of 4 or its max ore production, whichever is higher.

EMERALD Length Review
Efficacy: 4
Truly, it is not the size of the cannon that counts, but how you use it. Early SUCKERPUNCH experiments did a great deal to validate the idea that MOAR BARREL isn't always better, and careful trimming of the EMERALD cannon's barrel reveals there is still some resource recovery that can be done without noticeably impacting performance. In the end, around a sixth of the end of the barrel is reduced, which is sufficient for the bean counters to grumble away and reduce the requisition costs.

In order to differentiate the shortened EMERALD cannons from their counterparts and reduce administrative congestion, the new versions are painted red. Superstitious sailors immediately begin claiming that this will cause the bolts to fly faster- but there is no scientific consensus behind this phenomenon.

EMERALD LAC: 1 Crystal, 3 Ore for 1 | An LAC modified with electromagnetic focusing coil on the barrel, resulting in a tripling of cold-fire times, an 18 second hot fire delay, a 40% range increase, and a slight improvement of accuracy. The cost is that she's heavy, draws considerably more power, and the long barrel can get in the way a bit.

Tapering EMERALD
Efficacy: 3
Additional mucking about with the EMERALD's barrel has... lesser results. Clenching the taper near the end can only be done so much before the bolt begins to behave in very unusual ways- such as dramatic losses of accuracy and burning its way out of the barrel edges. Engineers scale back their compression estimates and enforce a slightly gentler slope than originally hoped, which yields a slight reduction in weight for the same performance.

The slight reduction of weight isn't enough to diminish the cost substantially during individual manufacture, but it should have an impact on larger orders.

EMERALD LAC: 1 Crystal, 3 Ore for 1 | 2 Crystal, 5 Ore for 2 | An LAC modified with electromagnetic focusing coil on the barrel, resulting in a tripling of cold-fire times, an 18 second hot fire delay, a 40% range increase, and a slight improvement of accuracy. The cost is that she's heavy, draws considerably more power, and the long barrel can get in the way a bit.

Feeder Coil
Efficacy: 1
The proposal for the added creation of a feeder coil, sadly, is mostly defunded after a couple of unfortunate tests. While the electro-aetheric sympathy effect was demonstrated between coils, and the altered current was successfully run through weapon's coils, but it yielded little to no effect on the bolts formation. Further testing as to why was cut after a short between the altered current used for the barrel windings and the weapon crystal feed line caused a critical failure- destroying one of the precious working models and killing the attendant engineer.

Spire Wreth's Production Stands At,
13(+8)/y Crystal, 22/65 Banked
19/y Ore, 30/95 banked
19(+6)/y Wood, 30/95 banked
10/y Silk, 10/50 banked

It is now the production, deployment, and tactics phase.

Right, here's a plan, it'll hopefully allow us to actually save an expedition force, while still maintaining our ability to perform a full force assault at TC next turn:
Quote from: Plan Glorious Rescue
Production: -

Ships:
Skiff @ TC: Stay put. Tactic: PEEK-A-BOO

Ships @ The Unfinished; Move to Wrackspire
 -Shibboleth Save the Troops!
 -2 Skiff: High Vigil
 -Rest: AGILE

Marines:
Marines @ TC: Fortify

Marines @ Wrackspire: Fortify; prepare to evacuate.

Or, we can do Plan B but with some recruitment of Khipha Teams.

Plan Glorious Rescue: (1) Jilladilla
