There we go. No opinion on whether the motto should be above or below center, just that it should be there.

Either way, for budgetmancy; assuming an IS PLACE core costs 2c 2o (PLACE costs 2c, 3o, 1s normally, trims are normally .5 c for one, and the PLACE has a reduced trim), we have 9 ore to play with. Which means we can only outfit 2 squads with gauntlets. Or we can opt to equip only 1 squad with gauntlets to allow 2 of them to carry swords.

So either 2 gauntlet teams, 1 pincushion team, no swords in sight.
Or 1 gauntlet team, 2 pincushion teams, 2 of 3 of those squads have swords.

Either way, I say equip lots of BLOCKs, they're useful. And give a pincushion team the BOX with the PLACE core. Oh right, we'd only have 1 core.

Well... I don't really like just one core, but pending cost confirmation we don't have much choice.

I would prefer more gauntlets, but I don't feel strongly enough about it to put forth any real effort.

Anyway, perliminary ship plan:

Quote from: Basic Ship Plan A
Everything that can reach heads for TC.

Both windriders and the Vomit Comet are on Boom & Zoom, priority targets are any enemy vipers.
2 AGILE Skiffs to focus on protecting the Herbie.
1 additional skiff on High Vigil.
All other skiffs are on AGILE, priority targets are enemy skiffs.

Herbie is to carry its load to TC, drop the marines and their gear, and get clear of the battle by as much as it can.

I have a few problems with that plan. Primarily, Skiffs are less mobile than Kunai. If we use AGILE on the Skiffs against the Kunai, they're gonna get killed.

Herbie and 1 Skiff use High Vigil, to avoid being ambushed and destroyed
All other forces use Boom & Zoom

Ebbor, normal skiffs have issues with Boom and Zoom, here's what Draignean originally wrote:
Quote from: WAY BACK WHEN
Boom and Zoom
Efficacy: 2
Booming and zooming is a tactic that works quite well with the Vomit Comet, -snipped Windrider specific things-. Normal skiffs also have a bit of trouble, as focusing all power to the lift crystals reduces their ability to juke by a bit, and tests show they're a bit easier to hit on average.

And still, even with the Kunai still being able to line up shots on AGILE skiffs, their maneuvering will still muck up their aim a bit and increase their life expectancy, we had a group of 5 being able to last a few minutes against a Kunai, long enough for their water coolers to empty and be refilled, while only suffering 2 losses a while back remember?

Our heavy skiff losses when we deployed the Windrider were mostly due to Close and Engage being the default after Double Ambush.
If they still get distracted by the skiffs then we want them to be as survivable as possible, they're there to keep their skiffs off of Herbie and the Windriders, as well as serving as either additional light fire support or ablative chaff, depending on whether they made a 'focus fire on their big ship' tactic or not.

Uh, remember that the PLACE also has weapon crystals. I would be surprised if more than 1/2 the crystal cost was in the core. I dunno, maybe Draignean has said otherwise, but I'd assume upgrading to IS would cost 1c 1o per PLACE.

Anyway. I don't know about sending out dudes without swords... I would be inclined to give all three squads swords, equipping 3/4 of each squad with pincushions, and 1/4 with gauntlets.

The scrolls are orange directly on blue. They'd look much better with borders like the feather has, and it would bring the image together better if the feather and scrolls either all have borders or none of them do.
