Body Armor

An addition to the curiass, this revision adds leather arm and shoulder guards to protect our Marines' arms from Wrethian bolts while behind cover. In conjunction with the leather helmet, should reduce casualties from venom bolts.

Those leather sleeves dont provide much coverage and require bronze armour which we cant afford.

Tower Shield
A large rectangular slab of bronzewood for marines to hold in their left hand and hide behind. Bronzewood allows it to be thinner and lighter than a similar oak shield with the same or better protection.

Shield wall
Marines stand shoulder to shoulder with shields or mobile covers and march forward, nearly invulnerable to harm. Marines without shields follow closely behind and provide covering fire.

Improved Bronze Helmet Manufacturing
Switching our helmet manufacturing from ancient hand forging techniques to a modern sheet metal stamping method will allow us to produce them much more quickly and without skilled labour, greatly reducing the cost. Setting up dedicated tooling for helmets will make it just as efficient to buy then separately from the breastplate.

Switch to Skyskiff Pattern A [1]: NAV
Keep producing Natalies []:
Skyskiff pattern A gets us two new skiffs and 2d6+1d4+1 topaz.
Natalie upgrades one old skiff to a natalie and gets 2d4-2 topaz.

Pattern A skyskiffs are almost worthless.

Unless Draig can confirm that switching to Pattern A will not effect our current flotilla of Natalies and that we will immediate produce more Pattern A skyskiffs this turn, I will be voting against it.

I cannot. Out-of-pattern constructions, like the pattern A skiffs, are only kept around if they're of less than or equal value. So if you switch back to pattern A, you're going to have to either buy or scuttle all your Natalies.

Would we have to scuttle Natalies this turn if we switched over, and then could we switch back next turn?

Oh. Nevermind then. Scuttling all our natalies would be horribly terrible.

If you switch off the Natalie pattern to another pattern, you have to scuttle the Natalies. If you just stop now and keep the pattern, but choose not to replace the remaining basic skyskiffs, I'll give you your topaz production back since it's not being used to create Natalies.

Can we fluff it as upgrading the remaining skiffs instead of replacing them? Since they both have names and a bit of character.

Edit: Either way I think getting more topaz would be better. The scouting role we have the shitty skiffs in now wouldn't benefit that much from being upgraded.

You can absolutely fluff it as upgrades and I'll keep the old names on them.

EDIT: Missed a question from Kashyyk.

You do not have to deliver hanging gardens. As long as the port isn't blockaded, it'll just get there by civilian traffic or be built on site.

A question; if we have our marines set traps with prepared bait and strike then pull them out of the spire, will the traps still be there to hurt Wreth?

Potentially, but it'll be greatly minimized depending on what you're doing. When your marines are there, it's relatively easy to predict the enemy enough to put traps on the 'likely' approaches. When people aren't there, you're just seeding traps in a fuckhuge spire.

With your current tactic, the chance to make a difference is quite low, and even then I'd mostly be factoring in grenade traps.

Does "make a difference" mean "they fail to gain ground" or "a few more die gaining the ground"?
