Minor nitpick about the studded armour: The studs are presumably made of metal so it shouldn't have studs. Boiled leather should be sufficient.

We're ready to update on the Wreth side, but I'd (ideally) like to see more than three people voting in order to avoid salt.

Studded Leather
Efficacy: 1
Aside from spending a ridiculously long amount of time arguing over what the hell the studs in the armor are supposed to do without metal plating behind them, there seems to be an issue with the hardening process. Specifically, it isn't working as well as needed. It's been done for small batches many times before, but something about growing the hide in bulk is tampering with the solution. The result is only marginally tougher than their normal clothing, thought at much vaster expense.

Owing to it being both ineffective and expensive, no actual production is made on the armor until the kinks can be sorted out.

Leather Helms
Efficacy: 3
Though partially victimized by whatever issue befell the leather armor project, the small batch size of the leather aeronaut cap has allowed it be effectively produced from whatever material comes out right. They provide limited protection from everything but blunt impact, but the integrated goggles are a well liked and useful addition to skiff pilots and all gunners. Their small size allows them to be integrated freely into uniforms where needed.

Guide Wires
Efficacy: 1
Turns out, this is trickier than expected. After the test crew nearly hangs the son of an imperial official a long hard look is taken at the viability of adding more ropes to the top of already crowded skiffs. It should be possible, and we've got a couple ideas of how not to hang crew members the next time around, but we're not going to get around to it with the safety audit going on.

Wagon Circle
Efficacy: 5
In a bright spot of news, the tactical team is able to get a very successful version of an aerial defense tactic going. The same honor that makes our men reticent to shoot civilian transports also makes them totally, almost frighteningly, willing to throw themselves into harms way for their comrades. Ships on a Wagon Circle* tactic will attempt to protect the weakest members of the fleet, or they can be assigned specifically to a ship via '[Ships] Wagon Circle on [Other Ship]', acting to defend it at any cost. If they aren't given a specific ship to defend, ships on wagon circle will always try to protect the weakest ships- such as ships with battle damage, holed or buckled shrouds, etc.

*The name of this tactic makes so little sense in universe it isn't even funny.

Mobile Cover - Light
Efficacy: 3
It turns out that a lot of that 'beautification' was actually useful as both armor and structure, but the light model is still brought out. It's substantially leaner and can hold a shroud up as long, but considerably less resilient against direct impact weapons.

Mobile Cover Platform - LITE Variant: 5 Crystal, 2 ore, 3 wood, 2 silk for one. Limit 1 per fireteam. Requires 1 TU. As the standard mobile cover, but with much of its excessively ornamental armor stripped away. As a result it's, cheaper, lighter, faster, and substantially more vulnerable to physical projectiles.

Spire Kasgyre's production stands at,
13(+10)/y Crystal, 28/115 Banked
17/y Ore, 17/85 banked
19/y Wood, 89/95 banked
10/y Silk, 18/50 banked

It is now the production, deployment, and tactics phase.

(clearly the studs are there to protect your chakra points. duh.)

Shame we rolled a 1 on it. I guess we could run a full design if we want some killer light armor, but i think that might be a bit much. The free leather helms are super nice tho.

buy the topaz trim web, lift, and vanguard.

Anyways, we pull back our transport now. Might want to escort it since there's still that skiff we missed.
We have the men and supplies to do a prepared bait and strike that will really bleed them. Especially if they are expecting a head on fight and switch tactics again. Then we put more reinforcements in the next turn. Gives us time to make a proper advancing tactic too.

We might consider building more transports and dropping a naked* squad or 2 at the Unfinished to kinda probe the area. I feel like it's been ignored for a while now.

*naked except for them free leather helms!! fuk yeah!

(ps. We could rename the "Wagon circle" if you really want draig.)

We should definitely also buy the topaz nades and gauntlets. We need to buy gauntlets and nades to equip new marines anyways.

Even the trim crystal. It is superior and cheaper to the normal web it would be replacing on a future royal viper.

Shame about those 1s, but at least our Natalie skiffs can go max speed now.

If we build two transports with standard equipment, it'll cost us 20c, 6o, 14w, 4s total.

We won't be able to produce much else that needs crystal, but it'll seriously open up our options. I'd be happy to drop to one transport, but we need to remember to spend enough wood that we don't overflow.

Sort of true. The Natalie can go max speed in a straight line without the pilot risking death by June bug to the retina. However, the crew is still slewed to hell and back by maneuvers, which limits her ability to use her insane maneuverability in combat.

I'm not sold on splitting up the Vipers. They now know where our fleet is, so if they choose to attack our "combined fleet" they will likely annihilate the reduced fleet left at TC.

If you want to move the Anguis back for refitting  (and I see the appeal) I'd want to move the whole fleet back.

I see your point and about not splitting the party. I think defending Three Captains is more important than refitting the Anguis, even if it's for a topaz vanguard.

Sending 4 skiffs to escort Mercury instead. The 2 transports sent to TC next turn should have a decent escort of 4 skiffs and 2 Natalies.

Quote from: Don't split the Vipers
Buy Royal Topaz:
Gauntlets (1c 1o)
Grenades (1c 1o)
Small lift (3c 2o)
Trim web pair (1c 1o)
Trim pair (1c)
Vanguard cannon (3c 5o)

Sail the Mercury and 4 skiffs back to Kasgyre. One-Eyed Will scouting, the other 3 escorting the Mercury.
Natalie II should fly to Blackstone, signal greetings to Mercury and help escort it the rest of the way home.

Train 3 comm officers (1c 1o 1squad)

Repair the Mercury (2w 2s)

Build a new transport, christen it Apollo. (2o 7w)
1 ream webbing (2s)
Trim pair (1c)
Small core (6c)
Small lift (3c 2o)
Comm officer

The 2 skiffs at Three Captains act as scouts and fire coordinators, while the 2 Vanguards and Natalie use coordinated fire.

Marines at Three Captains hold the line and slaughter Wreths with prepared bait and strike. Royal heavy squad using the mobile cover.
