By the by, Wreth has reached a consensus, so the ball is in your court.

Seems like people are a bit busy at the moment, so more votes will be coming in soon, hopefully.

personally, I think the basic tactic "Close and Engage" is enough for our Viper right now.

Personal cores.

A vs core Crystal wrapped in aether silk and carried in a back pack. Although it will have a considerably lower power feed than a core Crystal inside a ship, it does not need to constantly exert energy to keep a ship aloft, meaning it can store up some amount of charge. When making contact with the enemy, it will be used to generate a shroud to cover the entire squad, protecting against cannon fire for the few critical moments required to kill enemy gunners or withdraw troops. Being a core Crystal, it is also capable of flight. While this is not utilised at the moment, the idea is to eventually turn the device into a jet pack/personal shield combat suit. Until that day however, it will simply be carried in a silk backpack. It is designed to be carried 1 to a squad.

This provides a counter to the enemy cannons/gauntlets, as well as a starting point for more advanced infantry equipment.

As it would likely be a turn or two before we can start producing them, I recommend we do flanking tactics to help deal with it in the mean time, and bank the last dice.

Once we capture a spire outside of our territory we will go from being a kingdom, to being an empire.

That means we can have jet pack marines dropping out of the sky with a cutlass in one hand and a gauntlet in the other, screaming "For the Empress!!"

Clad in thick, ornately worked bronze armour and screaming about heretics and xenos...

Ahem.  I actually suggested a jump pack idea in one of the first couple of  turns.

I think if we were going to create shield generators for infantry,  they should either be completely personal,  or deployable like in Star Wars Battlefront.

Core crystals are not capable of flight.

Core crystals are not capable of flight.

What? How... How are we flying then...?
oh right, forgot lift crystals were a thing. Still, that means it's that much less power draw, and it should have no problem maintaining a (albeit weaker) shroud the way a ship does.

We could also go for batteries. Those would help powerPersonal Cores (I like the name btw) longer, and also keep our ships in the fight if the silk gets shot off. Or even if those aren't enough for fighting, they might be good for retreat.

Also, how does one vote here?

Could someone input the amount of resources we need to spend to outfit to the Viper Hull into a working Corvette. This is more important if we can afford a project Dice into the VPL while affording another Viper. The most expensive part is the 18 crystals, I believe.

A Viper can fit:
10 light cannon mounts | 8 in the bow 2 aft.
Can mount two sections of armor on the head.
Requires:
1 Core Crystal (At least small, up to medium)
1 Lift Crystal (At least small, up to medium)
4/8/12 Trim Crystals for poor/avg/good performace
6 reams of webbing

Those cost:
1 cannon costs 1 ore, 1 crystal
Armor costs 3 ore per section
Medium core costs 18 crystal
A small lift crystal cost 3 crystal,  2 ore
Trim crystals cost half a crystal each
Webbing costs 2 silk a ream

In total:
10 cannon (10o,  10c)
2 armor (6o)
Medium Core Crystal (18c)
Small lift crystal (3c, 2o)
12 trim crystals (6c)
6 reams of webbing (12s)

Final total: 18o, 27c, 12s

Spire Kasgyre's production stands at,
13/y Crystal, 38/65 Banked
17/y Ore, 22/85 banked
19/y Wood, 21/95 banked
10/y Silk, 26/50 banked

Medium Core Crystal (18c)
Small lift crystal (3c, 2o)
12 trim crystals (6c)
6 reams of webbing (12s)

Final total: 18o, 27c, 12s

Spire Kasgyre's production stands at,
13/y Crystal, 38/65 Banked
17/y Ore, 22/85 banked
19/y Wood, 21/95 banked
10/y Silk, 26/50 banked

We have Trim Webbing which costs 1 Crystal, 1 Ore, and 3 Wood for an amount equal to 2 trim crystals, and is better than the equivalent in trim crystals. Using those instead brings us to

27c, 24o, 18w, and 12s

Dropping the armor brings us to

27c, 18o, 18w, and 12s

Our current Viper is loaded out with Trim Webbing instead of Armor, which allows it to be vastly more manueverable than skiffs at the moment, which let's them kill skiffs more easily. Right now our Shroud is more than enough to protect our Vipers.
