Silly question, does the production line design produce a usable prototype?

Yeah we are at the revision phase, we spent a design on trying to build a production line for the Vipers and its going to require serious resource investment even with a 6 on the Cost. Anyways, Crystal refinement seems like a design because it would be a serious boon for a all-around passive crystal bonus the other one seems like a revision though, but reducing the problem the medium core crystal with de-synchronization is that's going to eventually be designed

Second vote Abstain: [1] NAV

Commenting on the Cost: That's why the VPL Beta we would be starting next turn would have the banked die from this turn and two additional dice from what we gained, for a total of 4 dice spent on Initiant Progress, allowing us to bypass some of the Resource concerns. And while we do that, we'll be able to produce a Viper Hull this upcoming production phase and then crystal and arm it the production phase after that. At which point, we should be gaining enough resources to make and arm at least 1 Viper a turn while we solidify our positions. 4 Vipers total should be enough to hold the line while we sort things out.

Why are insisting that we start another Production Line Project when we've literally just started this one?  There is no benefit. At all.

Just to clarify, this bolded part:

Viper Production Line: 1/45 | 7C + 5O + 5W + 2S, +15 From any combination of any resource | Rushed 0 Times | Nothing Invested

Is what it costs every time we put a dice in it?

Indeed. Per die, excluding rush dice.

The production line might actually be a good candidate for rushing, then revising away the bugs afterwards.

Initial Progress. Which saves resources. The trial balloon gave us a sense for how much resources and how much Progress is needed for the project and for future projects like it, so we now know how many dice we want to invest into the Initial Progress stage.

That was the plan in the first place. It was discussed a few times over Discord and at least once here.

So if we used 5 rush dice and spent resources we would roll 6d6 for progress?  Or spend resources and out extra 2 dice for 3d6 per turn.  That seems much better then some of the doom and gloom I was hearing.

With new cannons and improved trim and lift crystals the viper will be relevant for a long time, the sooner we get this production line out the better.

Defensive Fire
Efficacy: 5
The Witch-Hunter crossbows in particular are particularly well suited to this tactic, allowing the operator to reload from behind cover, snap off a shot, and then duck back down. Other, lighter, weapons benefit as well, but the crossbowmen in particular find it a revolution in warfare that they don't have to stand up all the time while reloading.

Refillable Barrel Pipes
Efficacy: 2
Refillable Barrel Pipes are... difficult. Not from a standpoint of simple mechanical concept, but for implementation. Currently, the barrel gets hot and water boils off as a means of dispersing heat. Refilling it while it's boiling is... tricky.  Particularly due to the fact that it requires one of the Skiff's very limited crew to actually physically fetch water from reserve, bring it to the cannon, and pour it in. This is perfectly feasible when the ship isn't in motion, but, during a fight, where the skiff is engaging in rapid evasive and aggressive maneuvers, it's absurdly difficult. For the Viper, and similar larger vessels, it become a possibility, although one that requires extreme delicacy in order to not fill the gunnery area with burning steam.

It is now the Production, Deployment, and Tactics phase.

11/y Crystal, 25/55 Banked
10/y Ore, 10/50 banked
11/y Wood, 14/55 banked
9/y Silk, 16/45 banked

I believe the current vote had us banking 1 die? Or do I misunderstand the process?

At the bottom we have "Bank 1 Die" and "Do Not Bank Dice", and Bank 1 Die had 2 votes to the other's 1.

If bank 1 die gets more votes than the second highest revision, the die is banked. Otherwose the revision happens.

Quick nitpick here, our transport barges should be at zero.

Move barges and skiff & viper back to the home spire, and then we need to figure out what to build for our new marine squads.

(Wait..  Were people seriously suggesting we just waste 3 dice to get an idea on the project costs?)

Fixed. The beer and hookers they picked up have been purged.
