It is now the revision phase. You have 3 dice left to spend.
Which one is right?

I am absolutely not. Derp.

Anyway, since that allows me to move forward, I'll start rolling things up soon.

Add me to the trim webs and the tactics. To those voting on the vanguard project, I would remind you that we don't actually have a way to mount the vanguard yet.

That would be why I also want to develop a medium mount to put it on.

Vanguard Pump Manufacturing Project
Efficacy: 3
The creation of specialized tools and processes for the manufacture of the Vanguard's pumping system helps, but it's a fairly specific improvement that will have little impact on the creation and optimization of other systems.

Vanguard Projected Cost: 5 Ore, 3 Crystal | Requires a Medium Mount

Skyskiff Pattern with Trim Webs
Efficacy: 5
The new pattern for the Trim Web Equipped Skyskiff is goes about as well as one could hope, with no qualms from the individuals controlling the purse strings. However, the notable (120%) increase in the wood required due to on-the-fly refits of the existing skiff hulls severely hampers the number of skiffs that can be put out.  Some negotiations are made, but it would be a really great idea revise a Skiff hull that natively supported the trim webs.

New pattern:
Produces one skiff every turn.
Produces a max of 7 skiffs.

Infantry Stealth+Ambush
Efficacy: 1
Apparently, stealth is a difficult thing to teach. The first hurdle is communication. Shouting orders doesn't work well with stealth groups, so we attempted to institute a form of handsign. Turns out there's a previously unexplored sign language in one of the lower habbles, and our tacticians managed to accidentally create some common handsign symbols that could easily be conflated with lethal insults. No lives were lost, the the neck function of one our tactical engineers is permanently impaired. The second hurdle is overcoming the natural zeal of the Kasgyrite soldier, which views hiding as cowardly. They're fine with the ambush part, that's covered under Arc's big book of war, it's the waiting quietly in one spot that they don't do terribly well.

In short, the initial rollout was FUBAR'd by the eggheads, derided by the men, and is generally disregarded the moment real battle is encountered.

Spire Kasgyre's production stands at,
13/y Crystal, 18/65 Banked
17/y Ore, 13/85 banked
19/y Wood, 30/95 banked
10/y Silk, 28/50 banked

It is now the production, deployment, and tactics phase.

Generally below average rolls, but I think we'll deal.

I personally think we should switch to the new skyskiff pattern, although as suggested by Draig, a revision of the hull to incorporate a trim web,  followed by another pattern (if needed) would also be a good idea.

Strategy-wise, our transport at Blackstone should pick up the marines there and take them on to Three Captains with the current escort.

I propose we rush all our skiffs into combat this turn so that we can revise the skiff hull to support trim webs and implement the pattern next turn.

Draig: Are the two skyskiff patterns similar enough that one can support the other, or will we still need to buy them out/lose them?

I figure it's a straight upgrade to the design, so it ought to be auto applied the way our kettle guns were. The trim webs required a revision to the pattern because they were expensive enough to change the cost.

Personally, I don't mind a lower cap, but I really want to maintain the 2 per turn production rate.

Buy Out Or Lose Out beyond seven. You can keep the old skyskiffs in the field (as long as your total skiff count <7) and just replace them as you build new and better skyskiffs though.

Sadly, that isn't going to happen unless you spend a revision trying to get more money to expand the line. It would be a relatively minor increase IF the skyskiffs used were revised to operate on the assumption of trim webs, rather than the exception.

I feel like we miscommunicated

I was asking if skiff hulls that support trim webs would be considered a direct upgrade to existing skiff hulls, and be auto applied to the production line.

If so, would revising the skiff hull to naturally support trim webs ( and thereby reducing the time/cost to custom fit each skiff) have the same effect as throwing more money at the project (increasing production per turn), or would that still require an additional revision to implement?

Also makes me wonder what the Wrethi have done to improve their SkySkiffs without increasing cost, there definitely seems to be enough of them that they are still producing to per turn.

Maybe they aced a general crystal improvement? That's the only thing I can think of what would apply a general improvement to everything. Maybe we should do something similar...
