So, given the current situation I don't think we will see any significant gains next year. We are likely to see heavy losses at the three captains until we have an answer for their infantry cannon, and I don't think we are set up for any super important fleet engagements. Give the situation, I want to try to negotiate a one turn armistice with Wreth.

The terms would be no ground engagements, and everyone pulls ships back behind the belt.

This would be largely in our favor. It would give us extra time to develop & ship something to the captains, extra time to outfit the new viper, extra time to buy equipment for the new marine squads we will be sending as reinforcements.

It will also help us in the fluff for the bonus. If they refuse, they basically hand us the credit. If they accept, we were the ones pursuing peace, we are the good guys, and we are likely to get the credit.

On top of all that, it would add another layer of interesting to this arms race, and make diplomatic maneuvering a viable tactic in the future.

Seeing as this affects the entire team, I wanted to put this to a vote before attempting it.

Two things: A, it's not gonna work, since they won't accept it. B: We're throwing you off the spire for HERESY & TREASON!

If they don't accept it then we are the good guys. It officially becomes a war of Wreth aggression.

I'm very much in the no camp on this, not because I think they'll refuse. But because I think they'll accept and then ignore the agreement. There is no way we can trust their word. Secondly we have the upper hand in the air right now and any ill advised Wreth incursions benefit us right now. We want to encourage them to come brainlessly at us not discourage them. Further more pulling our ships from the belt could let them land reinforcements to the three captains which is something we do not want.

If their is an actually justification of war, just utilize lying propaganda and claim to the fellow Kasgyriana that the Wrethians do not want a peace treaty and only seek to destroy the foundation of their very culture and assimilate them into a socialism bureaucratic nightmare.

Fun fact there is a bit of spin in that speech but I'm not lying. On discord they demanded we renounce our Queen and send her over to them for testing to prove she isn't a spider. They also suggested a peace deal which combined our governments into one parliament but any effort to combine our governments mean we'd have to adopt some measure of Wrethian bureaucracy (said peace deal required the renouncing and 'testing' of our queen)

Re-Synchronization Tools
Efficacy: 6
Designing the tools needed to interface with the medium core crystal in the field and begin resynchronization is no mean feat, but the design bureau does its best to create a miniature set of tools that can be  implemented in a ship's engineering section in order to both monitor a medium core crystal and, with some work, coerce it back to health.

Tests reveal that the technique is uncannily effective, though for unexpected reasons. The engineers who test the equipment (since the Serpentis hasn't been brought back to report to receive the upgrades) uniformly report that being able to actively monitor the medium core crystal makes them aware of a certain... pattern inside of it- like a three note heartbeat. They wax surprisingly spiritual about it, but, from a practical standpoint, they're able to get a much finer bead on the arrhythmia that leads to a desynchronization and stop it before it happens. This ability flabbergasts the engineers who designed the tools to work as a palliative measure, rather than a preventative one, but one doesn't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Medium core crystals with dedicated engineers will no longer desynchronize, and engineers are better able to monitor their core crystals in the field.

Infantry Flanking Tactics
Efficacy: 4
Developing new schools of thought with infantry also goes well, though not quite as grandly. Instead of variation on the massed fire techniques of old, the new design focuses on maneuvering multiple forces to strike a single target from different angles, which helps get around chokepoints and should help get fewer people killed. At the moment, limitations in the chain of command and local communications mean that this technique can only be effectively deployed to a group of four squads (two groups of two, when split).

It is the beginning of the production, deployment, and tactics phase. REMEMBER, any and all propaganda you wish to use for the event MUST be posted into the core thread.

Well shit, I think we need to rotate the serpentis with the newly outfitted viper this turn to take advantage of the fact we don't have to worry about the core crystal desyncing on us. That should allow for some more strenuous manoeuvres.

I think that is a good idea in theory. But in practice ships have travel time so that might backfire if they attempt something after the serpentis has left the three captains but before the new ship arrives. I recommend instead we send reinforcement marines to the three captains with the transports escorted by the new viper and then pull back the serpentis next turn. That way we leave no gaps for them to land

Wow those rolls!

The Lord Arc Protects

Well in that case what's stopping us from bringing the new tools with us to the three captains?

Potential GM rulings. Besides that, nothing. I'm thinking we arm our Viper Hull, and send it to the Unfinished with a 1 Skiff escourt, with it having the Close Agressively Tactic and the Skiff having Hit and Run as that might let it live longer. The Skiffs at Glowcave would then go to the Middle Spire with Close Agressively, hopefully they'll have a numbers advantage which is why that over H&R. The remaining Skiff would move in to support our Viper at the Captains, which would have Close Agressively with the supporting Skiff having H&R. If it gets there and doesn't end up intersecting with the enemy Skiffs, and survives, if the GM ruling allows it we might be able to send the tools up with that Skiff.

We don't really have the materials the arm any marines we send up there, but if someone has a set up in mind then feel free to share.

So... what if we have our new viper and the transport and 2 escorts go to blackstone (1 movement) and the viper at three captains go to blackstone (1 movement) to form a fleet of two vipers and two skiffs and 2 transports.

We can ask that one of the transports carries the re-syncing equipment with them to supply the viper.

Then the whole fleet does one more move, back to the three captains. (1 move)

This super reinforces the three captains and will let our vipers protect each other.

(the big brown dot is the hive right?)

No that's blackstone, the hive is the central local demi-spire.
