In the second week of Mundar...You sit down with the man and offer him a share of your flesh fruit beside the crevice emanating warm air. He is very thankful, takes it graciously, and offers his name as Seer. He says that he used to be a great leader of a tribe once but the rot took his daughter and he lost his resolve. As promised, he teaches you how to keep time and shows you the etchings in his notebook. While always fairly dark, this time of year is when no light reaches the floor and horrid things from the dark unravel from their dens. You ask if he can help gather and, despite some apprehension, agrees.

The two of you set to work gathering whatever of value in the local area next to the alcove. With two hands helping, the highest flesh fruit that was out of reach before is gathered and taken back. Down a passageway, the two of you find something unique to the area. A sponge-like plant with a cup shape sits in shallow flood water, surrounded by various insects. Inside the cups of the sponge plants is a thick, brown, mud-like paste. The paste has a sweet, tangy taste to it that makes your mouth water for more. The two of you gather as much as your hands can carry, which is an awkward task without any tools. Some of what you gather is lost along the path. The easiest gathering zones of this local area are gone. It will be more difficult to gather now.

A terrifying event occurs...
While hauling the sweet-muck from its location, a blood curdling scream emanates in the distance followed by resonating galloping. You pull Seer down and cover his mouth, knowing what it is all too well. The Beast. A creature of unimaginable horror that had stalked your people and scattered them in fear seems to have made this area a local hunting grounds as well. Those of the old tribe described it as a wolverine cursed by the gods, sent to punish the people for their disdain and lack of faith. Perhaps it followed your scent, perhaps it has always roamed this land, perhaps it is just a wild animal, devoid of reason or resolve. Nonetheless, facing such a creature as you are now would be fatal. The galloping fades into the distance and the tight grip on Seer loosens as you continue back to the alcove.

Nothing else matters to you right now.
Mi'zek: You step upon it now. It is the world.
Elly'Asim: Land where the gods reside. Sometimes the gods give upon us gifts and boons. Other times they rain down punishment for transgressions only they understand. Fashioning a totem to appease the gods of Elly'Asim is standard practice in order to gain favor.
The Beast: An immense creature twice the size of a normal man. Covered in fur and with the head of a wolverine, this creature has terrorized Mi'zek for as long as can be remembered. It was the creature that claimed the old tribe.
