"Good, good. Now the Overseer will present the assembly until she forgets what to say, at which I will step in."

The Headmistress remains silent, leaving the Overseer to do it. Seems to be a common theme.
"Ah, yes, Armis?"

I find that incredibly unlikely, as apparently unlikely as institutions providing seating with a thought to tails

Stella shifts uncomfortably, trying in vain to get her tail comfy

Louis finds a seat, trying but failing to relax. This school certainly isn't what he expected it to be...

Mei can scarcely sit still as she waits for things to kick off in the hall.

Has he already forgotten what to say?

Coda sits quietly and patiently, his tail giving him no issues as he waits for the presentation of the assembly.

There is, in fact, space for tails.

"What happens if you forget what you're supposed to say, but then the Headmistress forgets what she's supposed to say when you forget what you're supposed to say?"

"Then we just roll the orientation video, but the screen we've got is really small. Surprising,
 I know."

She coughs, and after a few more coughs the weird smile is back.
"First of all, the safety lecture. Here, you are dabbling in things beyond the scope of mundane knowledge. Some students here could kill you with a word." She sighs. "While I do not like to scare students, you must remember that everyone around you is here for a reason. It is quite like everyone holding a loaded gun. They may know how to use it, and be very sure not to hurt you with it, but if they are angry and decide to lash out... well, they have a loaded gun. Some students have no idea how to use it. They are firing a loaded gun everywhere while trying to stop." She takes a moment to think, presumably about how to finish off the analogy.
"In short: be wary, both of yourself and others. Any questions about this mildly-controversial part of the assembly?"

Armis raises their hand again.

"Why not just take away their guns? I can understand that this sort of institution is going to have a few inherent risks, but it seems safer to have some way to prevent anyone from getting shot by accident besides 'okay everyone, please don't shoot each other!'."

"Sorry, my analogy is flawed. I know for a fact, for example, that a student who arrived yesterday must be kept in a sealed room whenever possible, or risk incinerating everything nearby. In our example she does not know how to use a gun. As such, as much as someone may wish to pat her on the back, it's best not to. Common sense, yes, but emotional response can often lead to students attempting foolish things."

"If there is a way, we use it. If not, we can't. And sometimes, taking it away would negate the reason they're here. We're here to teach people how to just put them away. And also mathematics, science, English, and numerous option subjects."
