"One, how did you know who I am, and B, when can I learn to do things like the magic gate outside?"

Dale looks to Armis.
"Why would you want to do that? I doubt you have that many hands to spare and an electronic lock works just as well to keep people out. Hell, for some it works better, I mean have you seen the video on the wiznet where a vampire was trying to get past a retina scanner? That shit was funny."

[SOLDIER First]

Armis somehow manages to look at Dale as if he'd suggested a petition to color the sky bright pink instead of blue.
"I don't mean exactly like that. I need my hands for things. Besides, they're metal, they don't just cut off. I really want to do the part with the portal thing."

[Adragis]

"A wizard never reveals her secrets."

"One, I make it a point to memorise who is who before you show up, and B, probably in further education. Unless you're particularly magically gifted, at which it'll probably be... in further education. But there's nothing to stop you reading a lot of books on the subject and learning yourself."

Overseer nods in agreement, still flushed red.

[SOLDIER First]

"What's further education? ...Do we get to go to another school after this?!"

[Adragis]

The Headmistress chuckles at something. "Of course, if you wish. Most of our students do not, but then again we aren't really a typical school of this sort."

[SOLDIER First]

"Why not?"

[Adragis]

"Most other schools of this type primarily teach magic as the end goal, or how to fight. We try and prepare you for the world outside in a manner that does not involve teaching you how to kill anybody standing in your way." Her gaze, for one fleeting instant, grows cold and steely. "And, if that's what any of you are here for, I suggest you leave."

"Well, considering I agreed to be scooped up and taken here so that I can learn how to avoid having to stab people with my tail in order to not end up impaled on the end of a pitchfork or something, sounds like I'm in the right place."

"I think I've experienced enough murder for...*cough*...for a lifetime."

Louis' smirks at his own gallows joke.

"How much murder is that?"

"One, statistically speaking... Liches don't count."

"Dunno, could be more, but the joke he was making was that he was murdered."
