The doorways were sealed, and had no visible means of activation or opening. The archaeologists discussed it. Castle aliens always relied on words and gestures to activate their technology, so far as is known. These doors are probably the same.

Boiy, let people know that there is likely some kind of word and/or gesture combination that acts as the code to get each door open, and that it's probably written down somewhere else on the station.
