Lucius steps forward as well. "I wish to come along as well. This mission is looking promising, so I would like to judge the faith of these humans myself and see if they can be brought into the fold quickly."

I also need to see if Chaos has taken an influence in these people. Nothing good can come of trading with cultists.

(5) You manage to struggle free of the guards and sprint to a safe distance before tossing a knife at one! (5 + 1 = 6) The throwing knife zips through the air, slitting a guard's throat! It then travels around the group of guards like a boomerang. It (5) Slits another throat, (Three 6's in a row!) decapitates three more (!), (4) slices open the last guard's arm, and (2) narrowly misses a random bystander. It then flies back into your hand. Holy crap.

Looking with a cheesy grin proudly over the shark attack craft, his craft, his home, Eggbert, now clad in a nearly pristine flight suit, turns to face the party now entering the hangar deck, motioning towards the squad of armsmen assembled next to the craft and the craft itself.
"Lord Captain, your escort and your chariot await. As this appears to be a mission only of trade, I have taken the liberty of dispersing most of the armsmen I had gathered among the lighters and lifters that will be used so that they may act as guards."

"Hey, Tork, was it? Ever ride in one of these beutes? You ask nicely and Ill let you ride in the cockpit."

"Nah, I was a fighter pilot back in the Navy." Tork replied to Eggbert. He wasn't too excited with riding in the assault boat. They were fast, sure, but he preferred Fury interceptors by far. And since he wasn't the boat's owner he wasn't piloting it, so it was even less thrilling. No unnecessarily complicated maneuvers while hurtling through the void.

He shrugged in response to being told to ask nicely for a place in the cockpit. "I thought I was gonna co-pilot, but hey. If ya have another one in mind..." He was the best choice for a co-pilot, but it wasn't like he lusted after the spot. Not piloting was boring enough.

"Hey steve." You speak into the air.
>Yes?
"Could you guys also make a hamburger out of this arm when they cut it off? I wanted to eat it just for the sake of tasting it."
>That is horrible and disgusting. It will no doubt set you apart and create fear in your team mates. So of course.

The shark prepared and ready to launch, and the hierarchy of command established, the away team set off into the brightened void, lit by the backdrop of reflectors numerous as sand.

Sub found his place in the ship, and so he stayed behind.

Amara too continued with her surveys. She managed to determine the climates of the terrestrial planets in the local subsystem: both should be cold, arid deserts based on distance from the star. Curiously, there are biosigns regardless.

Eggbert took the pilot's seat, maneuvering his craft toward the opening on the nose of the ominous habitat where all the cargo ships began to rendezvous, the cap of the titanic cylinder being made of many folding, almost organically-arranged pieces.

The maw of the habitat station appears like a cylindrical cross-section, a hundred meters wide, carved out of space rock. It seems as if the cylindrical exterior merely hides the base's origin: hewn out of an asteroid. The walls of the asteroid are hollowed out like a giant sponge, with numerous passageways visible to observation, though it is unclear as of yet if they use those hollowed-out spaces for any purpose.

The landing pads lie out of sight engulfed by the darkness hundreds of meters below. There are no lights inside the tunnel whatsoever, a far cry from a proper imperial dock.

"That's odd. Globes out so soon?" Tork commented as he pulled out his glow-globe.

"It seems as if this peculiar ship doesn't have globes. Even if they are indeed human, its also feasible they shifted from Terra standard to something more suitable for the local system. It could be two bells in the morning, for all we know."

"Captain," Amara called over the vox, "From my surveys, I believe there are signs of lifeforms on the planets we're nearest to. Both have extreme climates, from arid deserts to arctic tundras overall, from their distance to the star. I believe these are linked to habitats mentioned by the one we've spoken to."

"It seems that will be our next destination, then. That situation would likely lend them to lacking basic necessities such as water, explaining why such simple utilities are valuable to these people. Perhaps their planet bound brethren will be more willing to release information."

The Shark swoops down onto bone-white landing pad devoid of markings. The spotlight illuminates a crowd of human bodies, standing at the rim.

As the cargo ships begin to unload, the workers of the "Habitat" begin to approach in organized columns, many of them solo hauling huge plastic crates with markings written in a foreign tongue.

Contact with Indecent's crew is brief and especially bleak.

"That's odd." Tork pointed out after spending some time observing the workers.

"But at least we confirmed they are human, odd as they may be. A cold comfort, but a comfort none the less."

Tristan was watching over the proceedings patiently, observing the odd behavior with an interested expression.

"In any case, lets return these commodities to our ship. Perhaps they will shine some light on what, exactly, we are dealing with."

Amara narrowed her eyes as she pondered over listening to the Captain's words.

"Captain, do you believe that we may encounter other people who have connections...or a lack of connection, to. . .what propels us? I may be wholly biased because of my experiences myself, but encounters with those who are not, innately, sensitive to the warp can be of great benefit.

"The thought only hit me oddly now."

The trader picked up the ship's vox, speaking clearly into it. "Clarify, Navigator Primaris. What exactly are you insinuating?"

"The possibility that we might be meeting people otherwise known as "blanks". It's a far thought, and surely an assumption, but I do not know of the protocol aboard this ship if ever we contact any similarity to such. From inference, these people do trade with spacefarers--but also from inference, we do not know how long since they have met others like us, or our ships. If it is possible to glean more information from them to their history, I believe it will help, especially with the maps I plan to make from this.

Amara turned away from the vox to sigh lightly, ever-aware of her own paranoia. "Of course I am partly jaded given the storm I've noticed."

"I've heard whispers of these soulless men, and assure you that it is unlikely. They are said to invoke incredible revulsion in typical humans, a response that we have yet to show. At least in that facet, they are mundane." The Captain looks back towards any remaining locals, as if testing his theory. "Which is a shame. The ability those men possess is worth a tidy fortune, due to their amazing rarity. An entire society of such beings would make us wealthy beyond even my wildest dreams."

((Note, not sure how much Tristan would know about blanks, but there we go :0))
