Combine ring with amethyst, then join the others in the kitchen. Dont attack with arcane magic, instead have Smoke use his abilities to help, dont get in range of the undead, attack from distance EDIT: Use tarball on the chef, aim for the head or arms.

EDIT: Purgatory isn't in hell. It's where the people who weren't evil, but who for whatever also weren't allowed into heaven, went. It's the cosmic waiting room.
EDIT2: And since going to worse parts of hell is considered going "deeper" into it, a.k.a. further downward, it's generally accepted that Purgatory is above hell.

EDIT: Regarding more clarifications regarding Purgatory: it is generally seen as a location where you pay off the sins that you've committed while you wait to go to heaven. It's not a punitive place, the way hell is, but rather a place where you go to develop as a person until you can be worthy of heaven. Basically, you go through trials that help you to make up for your sins and which purify your soul, leading up to you being permitted into heaven.

Purgatory is different in this setting since there's no sin, but rather taint. Purgatory is a place where dark spirits are cleansed of it.
