Turn 7
Nicely done. Now, let's be getting to that keep. - Aaron said, preparing his crossbow.
Well, that's taken care of. We'll be seein' that explosion trick again, I hope? - Dennis asked, strapping pitchfork to his back.
Amen. - Jeremiah ended his prayer and got up, clearing his robe off dutst from the ground.
Come quickly, I will protect you while we catch up with the other survivors! - Reynald ran over to Jacob, to shepard him with rest of the group.
Ok, Sounds finnne by me - Cobbs agreed to inquisitor's request and joined the group.
Hehehe! Hello demon, my name is Pguhyuh. But you already know that, right? What can you tell me aboutyourself? Name? Family? Home? Language? Favorite color?... - Pguhyuh started with a huge wave of questions to his demon companion, to which demon replied:
We have no name nor family. Our home are the fires and smoke from which we are born, and you already know my language. - when the demon said that, Pguhyuh realised that they were speaking in demonic language. -
Favorite color? - imp asked surprised, then after a while added:
Blood red.[4] Reynald felt stronger than before, as if guided by his faith and moved by destruction of undead, he learnt a skill of Zealous Rally.
[1] Jacob tried talk with demonologist and his smoke imp, but a horrifying gaze from the demon clearly showed that they don't want to be disturbed right now. The stare gave peasant a slight disbelief if power of gods is enough to hold coutnless armies of such, or even worse, creatures like this.
[4] Through mind-connection with demon, Pguhuyh learnt something about demons. They are born of arcane energy, and they are weak against it, as:
What brings our life, brings our death too. Bodies of demons somewhat defy laws of Axewrath's biology, taking them to extremes. Demonologist learnt only about body of his smoke imp though. It's skin is ashen, burnt and putrid, provides no more protection from physical damage than human skin, and is dropped once in a while to a fresher one. Smoke imps breathe air through openings on their neck, to keep a furnace powered with endlessly flaming brimstone in it's chest burning, and leave out smoke. Smoke imps don't have stomach and don't need to devour, they are sustained by their internal fire, and chew on their prey for the sole pleasure of taste. They don't have salivary glands in their maws, but rather tar glands - leaving out molten tar very slowly. Demons have no culture to speak of, and their society is formed by right of strenght and power to rule, and that's not in all cases. Imps are usually slaves to more powerful demons that prepare the land for coming of their master and it's bloody reign. Those imp masters are in turn slaves to other monstrosities, and the chain endlessly breaks up:
As there is no just one devil to rule us, even within demonic societies, entropy makes sure that there is always something stronger. Which also reveals that most lesser demons don't have their own identity at all.
[5] The party proceeded towards hills and the keep. Wanderer went first with his crossbow at ready, scouting for any possible dangers. He was followed shortly by inquisitor and exorcist, then peasants and demonologist with demon, absorbed in conversation. Moving between alleys, barricades and avoiding being spotted by undead or getting close to suspicious piles of bodies, they finally left the village and maddening screams of undead behind.
Jeremiah: Prayer ended
Reynald: HP increased to 40, added skill Zealous Rally.
Jacob: -1 Faith
OOC
I gave Aaron cyan for his conversation color. I'll be using it by default if you want, without need to post it in color when you post actions.
I rolled which skill Reynald will have (3 and below the other skill, above 3 Zealous Rally). It won't be possible to renew it's buff until it wears off. Highest roll bonus is +2, any other additions to Faith increase only damage output.
To restore your health, rest in a safe spot is necessary.
