Leader Name: First Speaker Bartiro
The army of the Brimstone Republic gathers on the border of North Maver. An army this size has not been seen on this side of the continent since the Empire still directly laid claim to these lands. Ranks of strong tiefling warriors stand ready, supported by bands of spearbeast auxiliaries. A low keening moan echoes across the assembled soldiers and they advance into the corrupted mire of West Dalton.
The land is ashy and the plants are sickly. The wilderness is eerily quiet as well, without a single bird call or rustle in the undergrowth. The few settlements the army passes are also empty and devoid of life.
Before long, your forces reach the town of Gatley, nominal capitol of the territory. At once you can tell something is different. Movement is spotted within the town limits, but there is something disturbing about it. You realise that whilst the town is filled with creatures, none of them are really doing anything. They just stand there, occasionally swaying or stumbling.
As if you've reached some sort of distance requirement, the host before you appears to awaken, jerking to attention and slowly shambling their way towards your forces. At their rear, you see a single individual clearly not like the others, who appears to be directing them.

The Attackers have crushed all resistance!
The sheer number of blighted creatures arrayed against your forces proved that quantity does sometimes match quality. The proud tieflings struck down wave after wave of the horrors, but each time a few of them succumbed to cuts or bites that festered and poisoned the blood. Eventually the horde was thinned enough that your forces could reach the individual leading them, but with a wave of his arms and a shouted word a blast of energy struck the nearest group, scattering them.
The spearbeasts, until now doing little beyond corralling the horde into the battle line of tieflings, proved their worth, as a company of them charged on the warlock. Many were struck down by the chatioc blasts, but due to a fear of failure or a desire to prove themselves in the eyes of their masters they continued on before falling on the man and cutting him down.
Thankfully his knowledge did not die with him. The warlock kept meticulous notes, detailing the hows and whys of his magic, as well as the spells he used to create the monsters you fought today.
Back at home, your new military commander, Maria Vulk, has just put the finishing touches on an elaborate scheme that proves beyond doubt that the envoy just so happened to be in North Maver when the Blights struck. In the process, some of the envoy's belongs were “looted” by his attackers, and have made their way to your treasury.
