It's not your island. It's an island you settled in. You have no claim to it, and your aggressiveness is only undermining your position. Compare your actions to how Ghaz and me dealt with our proximity.
I was polite after he moved off the island completely. He then moved back. More to the point there also was a body of water between your two nations. And I'd say my aggressiveness reinforces the claim; it how you know someone cares dearly about something you try to take away from them.

I know it's mostly just fluff, but I changed my race to ratfolk since it didn't make much sense to have lizards in a cold environment.

This discussion amuses me. But yeah, PaPaj in your place i'd move somewhere else, i don't know you but i know Taricus, and going by that fact i'd give you around 75% Chance of being knocked out Turn 1 till 3.

If i were you i'd settle on the central continent, more land to have there than anywhere else and a massive empire one can use to constrain alleys of approach.

That being said, please stay on that island.

I dunno, starting 1 v. 1, I don't see why Taricus wouldn't be the one getting kicked. More to the point, he's just huffing and puffing, but he know very well that if he spends actual troops in that stupid cock fight he'll get walked over by some third power.

Yeah, but no penaly if you walk in unopposed to get a beachhead before Taricus can get the entire island under his thumb (With a 50% chance that he'd loose his war).

Well, except for the locals. You have to get troops in and ensure they can take the land area, and from my knowledge of the last game there's definitely going to be NPC troops around.

Depending on the strength of NPC it might not be that much of an issue. Plus, if you decide to wage a war of aggression on a third party, I'm sure that third party would be willing to serve as a beachhead.
