I'm going to officially drop out of this game. I'm just not very engaged, and didn't end up clicking with my character. Thanks!

Since Egan's character isn't around, I guess that MIU is back on the market. Who had asked for one last time but got late to the party?

I'm active, but I'm not sure I want to head out with the landing party.  I feel my skills would be better waiting back at the ship for backup and examining the situation vis-a-vis common comestables, such as fuel and air.

Same here ._.
I mean as far as I recall, I can't warp the tinier ship out because of its lack of gellar fields and stuff. But that'd be nice as an idea, sending in a 'tinier ship' filled with heroes to perhaps do our own daring missions. :P

Warp drives let ships enter the warp, navis steer them. You can't warp any ship :-/.

I suppose a spotlight is one of those things they might have even though they are of questionable use in space. The Shark should definitely be equipped with one.

No. Its the GRIMDARKNES of 40k. Nothing has any lights on it at all, everything is pitch black. Everyone keeps bumping around trying to do things when they can't see. Its the reason melee weapons are still possible, since its too dark to aim right.

I swear that various bits of fluff mention running lights on voidcraft of various sizes. If nothing else, the windows in the giant space cathedrals would certainly leak some light from inside.

Ships travel faster than light, so they have to leave all the light behind before they leave or it will only slow them down.

That's...not how things work.

Anyway, running lights would be essential in any sort of high-traffic setting. The space around a station, ferex.

Of course it is. Let me put it this way: If you are carrying something heavy, doesn't it slow you down? Thus if you drop it, you go faster. This is because heavy things move slower than you, and thus slow you down. Its the same concept with space ships. Trust me, I'm scientastic.
