Cargo Hauler: This vessel was designed for transporting goods, and no amount of retrofitting can fully change this. This hull comes pre-equipped with one Main Cargo Hold Component. The hull’s Space has already been reduced to account for this, however, when the ship is constructed it must be able to provide two Power to this Component.
Fast Ship: Due to the precisely calibrated nature of this ship, it cannot be equipped with Components that increase its Armour.

History: The
Hostile Takeover follows a design created by a group of wealthy hive nobles with interests in the void. After noticing the Navy had a tendency of destroying instead of capturing when it came to pirates and renegades, the spire aristocracy sponsored the retrieval and repair of a ship to be remade as a boarding and salvage ship. Obtaining special permission thanks to their contacts, they managed to prove the concept as workable, picking off stragglers by disabling their ships with salvos of disruption batteries and following up with mercenary-led boarding actions if necessary. Despite the risk involved in taking a glass-jawed converted transport ship into combat, the design and a few variations began to be reproduced upon request by private docks to be used by entrepreneurial—some would say foolhardy—captains interested in adding more hulls to their fleet. The
Hostile Takeover was launched from the Kormisoshi Dockyards along with its sister vessel, the
Hook, Line & Sinker.
