Fell Moods and Fighting Dwarves
« on: June 04, 2017, 12:59:16 pm »

Is it me, or does the dwarf with a fell mood apparently have some divine force on his side. When he picks his victim and goes to them, there is no fighting, no struggle, Some dire magic is worked and the victim drops dead.

My untrained, untested fell mooded cook just walked up on the steelclad legendary maceman militia captain and now i need a new militia captain.

A mood means the dwarf will claim a workshop and, if he has the proper materials, will begin a mysterious construction.

Do you mean after a dwarf is unable to complete a mood and goes berserk?

I have noted the same thing... there is no fight, the victim just dies.

There is something to be said about, if the stakes are as high, maybe reconsider your certitudes. One has to be aggressively allistic to feel entitled to be able to trust. But it won't happen to me, my bit doesn't count etc etc... Just saying, after my recent experiences I couldn't trust the public if I wanted to. People got their risk assessment neurons rotten and replaced with game theory. Folks walk around like fat turkeys taunting the world to slaughter them.

Fell mood requires a dead buddy to be used as 'the proper materials'.

I mean at least you got a legendary craftsman out of it. So that's a plus.

The militia captain got turned into a dwarf bone short sword. I like to think he would be proud. Frankly I'm just happy he got as far as the tannery without the body reanimating. Truly, this is a fortress of nightmares

Fell mood victims are treated just like animals designated for slaughter - they're dragged to the workshop and are instagibbed for instant resource bundle.

I like to think that they go along with it willingly.

We are currently three turns in, and the main hall is coated in blood, intestines and random corpses. There's a huge pile of 3000 items made of human body parts in a corner and remaining members of the staff of the museum are, as I type this, being slowly choked to death by one of our adventurers.

Difficult to explain those fell mood mother's and their baby bone trumpets though...

That one's nonconsensual but considering the mother counts as the baby's guardian and decision maker . . .

Actually, they're killed on the spot - no dragging to the workshop, just sneaking up behind them, killing them, and dragging their corpse to the workshop.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.
