He reaches into his back and pulls out four and no length of rope. He drops the arrows and bag as he roars in fury as he throws a rock towards the monastery in vain.

He left the gods forsaken rope behind.

Bjorn chuckles. "Forget something? We have plenty of supplies with the ships, if you need anything. Spare weapons, extra shields, torches, rope, whetstones... I think someone even packed a sledge hammer."

Varg gasps for air as he rises having dropped to his knees in fury and picks up his gear.

"I need rope if we're going to use these. I could also use an extra shield if you can spare it. Mine... Uhh... Broke crushing our foes.

What do you have in mind Ulfir?" ((Can't do accents as I'm on mobile))

"We'll probably need lots of rope. I'm thinking we scale the keep's walls, since they're on the top. In and out, if Njorðr favors us, with little trouble. What do you say?"

"I don't see any other option. I'll gather what we'll need."

You each gather roughly fifty feet of rope from a large coil of spare in the hold. Varg also grabs a shield, a well-made, if unadorned, one of similar make to his old.

Njall has been fairly quiet thus far, not particularly interested in the details of the operation. Now that things promise to pick up soon, he is looking increasingly animate.

"We should set things on fire on the way out. Makes for a good impression."

"Actually... Why don't you start one? They'll be busy dealing with the fire and readying for an attack in the flames. We'll have everyone out before they know we're even there.

Any of you feel brave enough to go alone to set it off?" Varg says to the volunteers not staying with the ship.

"It will relieve the monotony excellently," Njall says. "If we are heading out right way, I will get to setting fire to the adjacent area when we get there. Going alone should be no issue."

You arrive on a hill some distance away from the castle. High, circular, wooden walls surround a courtyard; you count from this distance five reasonably tall buildings inside. Connected by a stairway-bridge is a stone keep, three stories high, surrounded itself by a palisade. A moat, mercifully one free of water, sits around the courtyard and hill. The hill is steep, but climbable, albeit with some difficulty. There are guards posted atop a gatehouse at the entryway, and you can make out the figure of a lone man atop the keep's roof.

It is midnight, and quite dark outside. You could easily approach the outer walls unseen, but many torches burn within the keep.
