D-16 and fire a bolt at the monk directly north of Gunnvor!

Gunnvor dashes behind a pew and unleashes a bolt at the monk, [2+1] but misses! The bolt splinters as it strikes the wall.

Úlfr breaks into a run, dashing a short distance to the pews on the right side of the room, loosing a barely aimed arrow with a twang at the heavy armored figure.

Move to G14, attack the knight.

((+2 attack mod, 1d6+1d6 damage, since he's flat footed, I can use Sneak Attack.))

Úlfr runs into the monastery and looses an arrow at the armored warrior!

[20!][17 + 2]

Despite Úlfr's lazy aim, the arrow strikes true. With a particularly audible whiz, the arrow flies through the air and embeds itself straight through the knight's eye--hard enough that it drives straight through the back of his helmet. Blood streams down his face, staining his blonde beard red, as the warrior wordlessly collapses to the floor.

Vilhjálmur should probably rethink his plan.

Vilhjálmur intones a short prayer to Heimdall, directing its effects at a currently unoccupied foe.

Cast Murderous Command [Will, DC 14] on the far-left-most Monk.

[18 + 3] The monk is clearly unfazed by your sorcery.

Njall charges in after Ulfr. This was the part he liked most in all of this. His voice rises in a terrible death growl as he raises his arms upward, and then breaks into a forward charge, dagger in hand.

Move to E13, initiate Inspire Courage!

Njall rallies his companions with a terrifying song that, to the ears of his foes, hardly even resembles music at all.


The two monks on the west side of the monastery draw weapons from beneath the pews! The westmost draws a flail, and the middle one draws a quarterstaff. The eastmost monk draws a short sword from within his robes. All three of them prepare to attack when someone draws close enough (i.e., they ready standard action attacks once an enemy is within 5 feet.)

It is Varg's turn again.

Varg notices the enemy is preparing for him to charge in and pulls out a throwing axe, hurling it at monk 3 and then grabs another

[3 + 3] Your axe flies through the air and nearly strikes the monk, but it misses and embeds itself in the wall.

Gunnvor curses, reloads her crossbow (free action from Rapid Reload), moves up to D-14, and fires another bolt at Monk 2!

[1!] The bolt whizzes a foot past the monk's head and narrowly misses Varg, then proceeds to crack a stained-glass window depicting a silver-armed man holding a blade aloft.

Gunnvor makes a mental note to check her crossbow's sights after the battle, because this is ridiculous.

Úlfr aims his bow threateningly at one of the monks, and shouts in their native tounge: "Sěos do ghŕirdeanan no a bheir sinn dhaibh, coin!"

Vilhjálmur looks down upon the monastery. Deciding to assist Varg in case the monks surround him, the warpriest directs his hand at one and a bolt of fire bursts from his palm.

Use Fire Bolt [Ranged touch, d20+0] on Monk 2.

[13] [1] In the blink of an eye, a wisp of flame flies from Vilhjálmur's hand, singing the monk's head. He whimpers in pain, a bit of his tonsure goes up in smoke, and his scalp is visibly burned, but the monk does not seem notably injured.

Njall's growls turn to inhuman laughter as he continues onward, dagger in hand.

Maintain Inspire Courage, move to E11 and hurl my dagger at the throat of Monk 2 from 10 feet (1d20+2 attack, 1d4+3 damage).

Continuing his ode to death, Njall flings his dagger at the acolyte. [12 + 2] [2 + 3] Njall underestimates the distance between him and the monk, and the knife falls short of its target, but his dagger finds a mark nearly as deadly. A scream of pain is heard as the monk clutches at the blade in his stomach. He is on the verge of death, but alive.
The westernmost monk charges at Varg. "Do brŕithair Niall!"  [15 + 1 vs 16 - 1] [1 + 1] His flail slams into Varg's chest, dealing 2 damage.

The gutted monk, in fear, drops his weapon and goes to his knees, hands behind his head. He yells, "Nach 'eil! Caomhnaidh mi!"

The easternmost monk also charges at Varg. [12 + 1 vs 16 + 1] Luckily, Varg just barely manages to dodge the blow.

Advancing on the dias, Úlfr continues to bellow, once again in the tongue of the priests. "Faodaidh tu a bhith le d 'bhrŕthair air do ghlůinean, no ann an talamh!"

Varg lets out a faint smile as he gets surrounded. He swings around with his axe and brings it down on the monk behind him and then swings with his off hand. His fighting stance is clearly not prepared for fighting without a shield, but sparring with his brother gave him some ideas...

Varg responds to the flail-wielding monk's bravery by decapitating him with his battleaxe. A spray of blood splatters over Varg as the severed head sails off in an arc.
