Tomb raiding it is! You head back down into your lair and take the passage out beyond the dome with all of the historical bas-reliefs. From there you find yourself moving through a maze of twisty passages, all alike, some of which are natural caves or fissures in the earth, some of which appear to be deliberately constructed, either as elements of tombs or as pragmatic and unadorned passageways.

You spend the better part of several days down in the necropolis, charting out new sections of it, clearing rubble in your path and slaying the occasional wandering ophidian mummy - no sign of any living ones as of yet. As well as several relatively unguarded minor tombs with associated loot for the raiding, you manage to find one mummy who was buried with a very impressive tiered necklace of peridot pendants. {
3500 silver coins} worth of loot in total, although no real enemies worthy of note. What does catch your eye is a depiction of the temple that supposedly used to stand at the height of the Ophidian Empire's capital city, the prime temple of Fortuona. The temple most likely sank with the rest of the city, but some inscriptions nearby indicate that it was traditional to bring an offering to the temple to receive Fortuona's blessing. Whether that interests you or not, if the temple is down here it might be full of valuable loot for the taking.
Still, you take the opportunity to return to your lair and deposit the loot you've stashed in your hoard there, then head out to kill a few raptors, since you're hungry. Picking feathers out of your teeth, you consider your next move.
A) We're not done here yet! Plunge back into the necropolis and see if we can't find more clues as to that temple.
B) Mess with kobolds for a bit.
i) Take advantage of those homesteads you know about. You can always decide to raid, raze or trade with them later.
ii) Head back to Igrylligus. Maybe we can take another shot at this.
iii) Pay a visit to Korobatbat. Half-decent warriors sound interesting.
iv) Seek out Bomugil and that apothecary.
C) Go exploring the swamp again, maybe you can find something interesting.
D) Something else?
