Kobold: 2

You watch from the branches as the kobold draws, lines up his shot, then releases the arrow.  It sails through the air and at the last possible moment the lizard moves its head - the arrow sinks into the dirt beside it.  The lizard looks up, marking the kobold instantly.  Its crest flares up around its head and quivers, producing a rattling sound.  Before the kobold can ready another arrow the lizard's jaws open and it spits a stream of black ichor straight at the kobold.

Kobold: 1 You: 8!

The ichor covers the kobold, who immediately begins letting out a high-pitched squeal.  Looking at the way the kobold's scales start turning black and sloughing off, this seems to be some sort of venom rather than acid.  You nimbly duck out of the way of the first stream and manage to bob down and pull the bag off the collapsing soon-to-be-corpse.  Gripped in your teeth, you spirit the bag and its contents away to your lair, where you empty it out to take a look.

As well as your beautiful egg shell shards (Value: 100 silver pieces, your ancestral instincts provide) you find several grimy, battered circles of a brilliant yellow metal that speaks to your soul, each crudely stamped in the likeness of some crowned humanoid figure.  (Seven gold pieces.  Value: 140 silver pieces.)  Finally there is a collection of beautiful feathers in all sorts of bright colours (Value: 10 silver pieces), which you use to pad out the edges of your nest for decoration.  You pile the eggshell shards and the coins together and nestle down in them to get some well-earned rest.

You slowly rise out of murky dreams of flying over some sort of vast icy terrain, larger than any of the tall trees that dotted the frozen hillsides.  You stretch out your limbs and yawn, feeling the feathers and woven branches at the edge of your nest.  You feel your eyebrow ridges crease.  Your nest has gotten smaller.  No, wait...

You have grown, now the size of a housecat.  There have been other changes, and you feel fragments of your ancestral memories more solidly anchored in the back of your mind, lending their skill to you.

You glance around at your somewhat stuffed lair, feeling an instinctive evaluation of your hoard's current worth.  You get the sense that whilst individuals might argue and bicker about the price of what you have, you have an unerring sense of its true value.

Hoard Value:  250 silver pieces.

You wonder what else has changed.

As a Dragon, you are not tied to petty 'experience' or the constraints of the mortal races.  You are a creature of Greed and Pride, and it is Gold and Glory that stirs your soul.  As you grow your hoard, your physical form will develop.  As you perform glorious deeds, your skills will sharpen.  You currently have enough of a hoard for one change, and your first glorious deed has lent you your first inkling of skill.

What change has been wrought to your body?

A) Your breath has quickened, allowing you to breathe fire at last.
B) Your wings have developed some muscle, allowing you limited flight.
C) Your muscles have bulked out, granting you even more strength than your new size would allow.
D) Your claws have strengthened and become flat and edged, making them more dangerous and also allowing limited burrowing ability.
E) Your claws have become more nimble, allowing you greater manual dexterity.
F) Your eyes and nose have grown sharper, allowing you greater awareness of your environment.
G) Your scales have hardened, making you tougher and harder to harm.
H) You have grown stouter and hardier, making you harder to kill, able to take more damage and resist illness and poison.
I) Your soul has quickened, allowing you the spark of inner mana needed for magic.

And what skill has awakened in your mind?

A) Personal combat.  When facing only a few foes or a singular foe, you are much more capable at fighting.
B) Mass combat.  When facing large numbers of foe, you are able to deal out damage en masse and evade mass attacks.
C) Stealth.  You are able to remain undetected from observers and quarries.
D) Hunting.  You are better able to track down foes, lay traps and gather animal-based resources.
E) Apothecary.  You are able to identify alchemically useful ingredients and combine them to produce simple potions and items.
F) Metalwork.  You are able to work metal in simple fashions, as well as prospect and smelt common ores.
G) Presence.  You are able to speak well and inspire degrees of awe and fear in mortals you meet.

I suppose if we're going to be in a swamp we should adapt to the habitat.

I feel I should point out that swamps tend to be, well, swamps.

An underground burrow isn't usefull when it's underwater.

The claws are more for damage dealing than anything else, if stealth is the way we continue to operate, having actual effective organic blades seems necessary.

At the least we can possibly cut down trees with it! Or make a wooden barrow.

You examine your claws, which have broadened and flattened, with more support behind the muscles.  You could slash and rake with these effectively in combat, not to mention cutting and digging with them.  You find that you instinctively know how to move stealthily, taking advantage of cover and creating as little noise as possible.  You are still quite small at present, which further aids stealth, but as you grow your bulk may eventually be a hindrance.

Still, you feel hungry and it is a simple enough matter for you to stalk through the trees until you find another wild boar.  You leap upon its back from hiding and dig your claws into its spine, breaking it and causing the boar to shiver and go still.  You carve out chunks of the boar's flesh and feed.

Right now, you have sufficient food sources not to go hungry, since you can reliably hunt these boars.  However, as you grow larger you will become more voracious and require additional sources of food.  For the moment, however, your stomach is sated.  There are other concerns, however.

A) Try to find an additional food source for when you grow.
B) Look for new sources of wealth to expand your hoard.
C) Look for glorious challenges to overcome.
D) Seek out a new lair or try to improve your current lair, which is a bit short.
E) Something else?
