Ripple continues attacking the corpse of Spider 2.

Crystis jabs Spider3 with his sword (6,1) dealing a solid blow to its torso.
PaPaj jumps in to help Crystis with his dagger (4,2,1) but his blow skitters off the spider's chitin.
Ripple pointlessly thumps on Spider2's corpse. Feel better now?
ATHATH heads back up the stairs at best speed.
Skia once again attempts to attack Spider3, (1) but he fails to connect.
flabort rakes at Spider3 with his claws, (2) but fails to connect.

Spider1 once again attacks Spider3 (6,4 -1) this time doing damage.

Spider3 retaliates against Crystis, (1,1 -1) but is too weak to even leave a scratch.

About this time the professor finally pokes his head down the stairs. "What is all this racket? Oh! Spiders!" A thin Lance of power strikes Spider3 in the side, finishing it off. "Hmm, this room is very interesting, do you mind if it take some time to examine the walls? Oh, why am I asking, I hired you, of course you don't mind..." The professor then ambles over to the nearby wall muttering about carvings.

ATHATH is at 2/5 health, Crystis is at 3/5 energy, everyone else is in good shape.
Spider1 is still under control, but not for long... Kill it or try for a more permanent control (keep in mind the latter will be tricky).

Claim some spinnerettes, add some legs to my pack.

Cutting off a few spider legs is easy enough, you do so and add them to your pack.

A spinneret is a little harder, you ruin the first one (2) but the second attempt is rewarded with a fine new part to attach (3). Actually attaching the part goes smoothly (5,3). Congratulations! You are now the proud owner of part of a spider butt. Climbing and other such activities may now use your flexible body quality.

I will check the room for traps and hidden doors

You poke around the walls, looking for traps. (6+1-1) aside from the risk of getting stuck in a web there are no traps (5+1-1) you do find some stonework suggestive of a door in the far wall, but it is too plastered with webs to be sure. (6-1) diligent investigation reveals that the webs here are actually attached to a thin lattice hinged on its top side.

You wander over to the wall. "Fascinating isn't it" the professor addresses you "these engravings appear to be from an old group that worshiped an anglam of the south and west Pillars. Rather heretical, but fascinating..." He wanders over to the next set of carvings, and uses a wisp of power to burn away the webs. "See, look, iconography of semi-mechanical energy creatures that appear to be their version of perfect beings. Hmmm, I would watch my step in here, magic and machines could be a deadly combo for traps. So far we are still in the entry, but once we get farther in we will probably see fewer animals and more traps."

Clarification: I am going to kill the final spider by ripping a large chunk of its body off of it.
