You decide to station the Army on the southern border, send spies to Damdamia and diplomats to Rucus. A delegation is sent to Sim Empire, with request for help.
1217 AD, Late Summer
The Marshal reports that bulk of the Army is now in Eval or at border with Lametania.
Diplomats send news; apparently, Rucus and the Republic are simply dealing with bandit problem within Rucusian borders. None but the most unintelligent of your courtiers believe this.
The Spymaster brings information; counting up previous numbers with those spotted marching through northern Damdamia, the apparent invasion force now numbers twenty thousand.

Springwine and glassware brought smol profits this year also.
The worse situation is with t'chai leaves. The recent shortages of these aromatic leaves have not only brought loses to the merchants' pockets, they also believe that it might be Eldrican court that is curtailing their efforts in the west.
The merchant princes want to talk about the t'chai trade, and the Spymaster wants to deliver another of his reports.
Just as you start to consider whom to talk with, the guards report that the messenger sent to the east has returned with a response from Emperor Mahjar Sim.
"'The Emperor himself stands with the Methiantese dynasts, his and the Empire's most loyal of friends and comrades, but he is unable to send help, for Simian army is needed elsewhere.'"
You decide to...
A) Speak with the Spymaster.
B) Listen to the merchant princes.
