You learn that recently the trade with Chai and Gan Minsong has lessened; the two nations are currently at war and therefore they both do their best to stop each other ships as well as often seize cargo on independent ships. While Albionese have enough ships to deter such piracy, the Helliste navy isn't that strong.

You half-mention that Methiant needs access to the sea, and Siguard rubs his chin.

"If your merchants would pay passage taxes and port fees for goods brought from the eastern lands, I would grant them priviledged use of the harbors in the city of Wella. It's on the shore straight south of the Black Isles. Interested?"

This does hinge on whether or not we go to war yet. And as for calling off war, peace tend to be more valuable in the end, and Siguard seems rather chill and keen on finding a diplomatic solution. But! I will understand if people still want a war and won't hold it against them.
