Mysticism, Feudalism, and Piety are wonderful though! I knew fireblood would bring on something horrible eventually.  Well I've already committed myself to Magic, Pantheonism, and Honorable Luathbasian Monarchy so I guess those goals are only going to get harder to strive towards now.

The map is a bit different but from the looks of it we need the Duchy of Koi, maybe the Duchy of Eval (Chunug was our vassal at the time but it was very loosely affiliated), Ankurvat, and a bit further west of all that to hit the old border.

okay, we need to get military superiority again for once, maybe next year we can still manage to get a high number on economy, we should give money to eldrican and undo our bad roll in trying to making him bow to us and put that advanced religion stuff, it's the closest we can come to public schools for now, improve our superiority in terms of science and maybe once again have military superiority

bonus point for sending a gift to eldrican, making sure we have a safe trade route to those countries on the west, surely they can sell us something that we will gladly accept, or re-sell them on far lands for higher prices

I agree with all this, but I think too many people here hold a grudge against the Pantheonists over what happened to Yoe III for the plan to get enough votes.

Thinking longer term than mere friendship with Eldrican, we still have this on the books:

End of Year 1159 AD: Introduced Elective Succession Laws:
Sometimes a firstborn might be below average in terms of his skills to rule the nation, but there might be no other alternatives left, even amongst females. Elective Succession will allow the monarch to select the most skilled to inherit the throne, even a distant (or foreign!) relative of the successor, although this might cause problems with less gifted yet highly ambitious relatives of the next ruler, as well as local nobility.

I think this may be (at least in part) the awesomeness Haspen was thinking of when he said Hein taking over Eldrican would be worthy of triple 6s. This could be our next target after Cydwyl – it's arguably already a better choice than our previous declaration of Cyl for Yoe's heir if they are receptive.


As far as Pantheonism, I like the idea of schools but I am wary of the clergy's historical tendency to envy the crown's prerogatives. I'm also aware that beyond Cydwyl and possibly Helliste, we are out of Pantheon-sympathetic nations and our neighbors, including trade partners, are likely to be less friendly if we push too fast down this path.

Don't need to push THAAT hard, we can use those theological meetings as situations where we can absorb part of other small religions, like the Parsian religion and this way people will manage to worship their gods, still worshiping the pantheon, and let time make they worship others too, but let's maintain those missionaries edict out of question, or to persecute other religions

Did you miss that we just had a legitimate son? I don't think Cydwyl would be too keen on being Anexed if we announce plans of taking the Imperial Crown from their King's direct bloodline.

Peaceful assimilation will likely take a few decades.
