You decide to return at once, and before you even get to the capital, the Sim Empire is to receive declaration of war from Methiant!

A week later you arrive at your capital. Your wife of course, with her big belly, will remain here.

The Marshal salutes you during the first war council of this conflict.

You declare that you will lead, armed with the Sword of Puncturing in one hand and banner of Methiant fluttering on top of The Bronze Flagbearer in the other.

1194 AD, Late Winter

During the Army's march east, you've received several reports.

Firstly, Simians are employing both Damdamian mercenaries as well as soldiers wearing garments previously unencountered by your men. Secondly, they have many Oliphaunts, but those beasts are not armed with archers, they're carrying Blackhearts on their sturdy backs! Thirdly, the entire numbers of Simians seem to be reaching about fifteen thousand currently (mercenaries included). While Mahjar Sim is apparently not in charge of this invasion force, a renowned and very experienced Gubtan general, Ajarat Padarashka is present. With most of Methiantese Army at your side, you outnumber the Simians by about one-third of their horde.

Ajarat's army has already captured several cities, in which they've burnt down Parsian temples and slaughtered Parsian populace inside them, sparing the occassional Methiantese, Damdamian or Gubtan they find.

During the war council with your officers, it seems you have two ways to approach the conflict; rush for Ajarat before he does more damage, or go south, retake the cities and cut supply line of the Simian army.

A) We will strike at Ajarat Padarashka with our full might!
B) We can go fight Ajarat, but some troops ought to harass his supply lines.
C) We need to get more information first. Scouts, I choose you!
D) We will go south and undo Ajarat's work as soon as possible.
