I am just remenbering something

We asked Ceodwell for compensation for denying us the marriage a long time ago

They haven't payed nor replied

To the east there is more than Zasistot and Ceodwell. Kashites, Gutba, Agaresians and even the Shanshans are there and can plan to do something nasty or nice

And to get there we can go through Zasitost (dwarvenly fortified, civilians evacuated, mountainous) or Ceodwell (insulting, unfriendly, and a route straight to Gubta to resume our spice trade using the new silver mine).

You Army sent north comes back with money! They also bring a letter from the grateful Queen Dogethe, who, while not needing your soldiers' at the front, felt much more stronger having someone to protect the heart of her nation. She reached an agreement with the Agaresians, which secured the Cydwyllian colonies in the east and got the Agaresians to look south rather than west.

Few days later you receive an envoy from Lametania.

"Greetings, good king Cyl. My master, King Umar, has sent me here with an inquiry - are you interested in again providing us with protection of your Armies? Our skilled miners have recently found wealthy copper deposits, which we can send to you, if you will not accept hard cash of course."

A) "Sorry, not interested this time."
B) "Trifle copper? You must be joking. I want more than that!"
C) "Sure, money for protection, that works."
D) "Sure, copper and its crafts in exchange for my soldiers."

My proposal for the future:

Next time Lametania asks for protection we move to regularize the situation by offering a treaty to combine the two kingdoms along the following lines:

* Lametania keeps its own internal laws and king, under the Methiant Emperor so long as the agreement is kept.
* The Lametania army is folded into the new Methiant imperial army, and is trained and manned to the same standards in the same schools.
* Army divisions are all of mixed nationality, with a focus on equal opportunity for officers of both nations. (This is a sneaky way to boost integration)
* Methiant vows to protect Lametania from all foes, provide aid in disasters, and generally make sure they prosper in safety.
* Lametania provides a portion of their tax income to the Methiant Emperor.

Edit: Sign or not, we then move in and spend money left and right on public improvements, more and stronger patrols, and all kinds of other PR BS. Basically, "sign now, or we just take it" followed by a massive PR push to keep the people happy.
