Lametania's been mired in civil war in the far south for the last seven+ years, right? If we stop these raids I wouldn't expect them to do much else.

You order some guards from the capital and the palace to be sent south, amounting to almost thousand lightly armed men.

A week later you get a report from the southern garrisons; an army of about two thousand soldiers (about half of them mounted) has been spotted moving toward Felonsein. The garrison commanders alerted your soldiers in that area, but they ask you for instructions, especially that at least five small groups of Lametanian horsemen are still running circles about your borderlands.

A) Keep calm and concentrate on the raiders for now.
B) Send out raiding parties into Lametania to wreak some havoc!
C) Try to coordinate a pincer attack to annihilate the Lametanians!

I just saw now that the lametania army is going to felonsien, not to methiant.

A Eliminate raiders first (or at least guarantee they won't come to aid), and then pincer attack the invading troops,

Did we got some fireblood from the attack? it will be funny seeing the horses run scared when we fire it from inside the walls.

You order the border forts to concentrate on raiding parties.

A week later you receive two reports.

First is from the border; the raiding parties were all hunted down, and only few Lametanian horsemen escaped to their homeland.

The second is from Methiant; your Army there met with advancing Lametanian force.

It didn't as good as you could've hoped. While your Army was victorious, they traded kills at a ratio 1 for 1 with the Lametanians. Almost two thousand loyal Methiantese were killed in the battle. However, your soldiers stood their ground, and the Lametanian army was crushed.

Five days after this gruesome battle you receive another report, this time from officer of engineers who was conducting a search at Felonsine palace and the royal armories. They have found 7 disassembled Blackhearts and no Whitehearts (which were employed against your father in 1085). Fireblood or its components amounted to several bags of the stuff.

The officer concludes that your enemies either ran out of ammunition and gave up on the technology or moved the valuable death machines somewhere and away from your reach.

1096 AD, Midsummer

Shortly into Midsummer, you prepare to get some sleep after a heavy afternoon feast. As you prepare to sail away into the dreamlands, you hear a 'tap' and clink of metal. You wake up and sit up in your bed, spotting an assassin at the window!

She turns around to notice that you woke up-

"Gedavina?" This cannot be! You have buried your dearest wife in the royal tombs, but there she is! Those eyes, that hair! That figure and those sultry lips! It's her, you can swear it!

"Gedavina!" The woman quickly turns around and jumps out the window, her grey cloak fluttering behind her!

A) Run after her!
B) Call the guards!

My heart says A, because reuniting with our wife would be awesome (as would any mystical ghost stuff) but my head says B, just in case someone has hired a look-a-like of our wife to kill us, as the most perfect of assassinations. Or we could just fall out of the window and break our neck.
